I am happy to report that the new owners are hoping to reopen the doors early March.
The name is changing to On The Latch so look out for new Facebook page folks as this one will be closing.

Please note all vouchers purchased in the last 3 months will still be honoured in the new year.

Joanne would like to thank all our customers that have supported us over the last 5 years.
We will be closing the doors on Thursday 13th December as Annley House Tearooms.
The good news is the new owner will be reopening in January.

In light of our previous post regarding the loss of our Dudley. We will be closing the Tearooms on the 11th, 12th and 13th of October. For those who wish to pay their respects, the funeral is on the 12th of October at 10am at Pitsea Crematorium. Dud loved flowers so we ask for these only, all the flowers will then be displayed at the tearooms afterwards. The local florist we are using is Samatha May, and she will ensure that all bouquets will be taken care of. If you cannot make the crematorium, but wish to pay your respects. Joanne would like you come and raise a glass at the tearooms from 12.30 onwards. Formal dress only.

Just because Wimbledon is over doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to a Strawberry Sundae. Vanilla Ice-cream, strawberries, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, toasted marshmallow and a coco wafer!😋🍓

We held my daughters 1st communion celebration at Annley's House and it was amazing. We had a two course roast dinner and dessert which was delicious. The staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome as they always do. Thank you for making my daughters day very special xx

Visited here for the first time this week for a girls lunch out. Food was lovely and a pot of tea is a proper pot of tea, no scrimping on teabags. Staff were lovely, the tea rooms themselves were beautiful and loved all the finishing touches. Lovely lunch in lovely surroundings, thankyou

Thank you all for such a wonderful baby shower yesterday. Beautiful venue, lovely staff and fabulous afternoon tea. Couldn’t have done enough for us to make it extra special. Highly recommend.

Spent 5 hrs in there today - non-stop chat with the gorgeous Michelle and completely forgot the time in lovely surrounding. Lots of tea, cake and lunch! The weather was gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful, the staff were amazing (putting up with us) and the food and tea was delightful. Lots of other customers enjoying their "Afternoon Tea" which looked amazing by the way - we are sure to come back real soon. Thank you for a lovely "day" !

Popped in today with 10 other cyclists and what a fantastic place. Very friendly, great food and so handy to be able to tuck the bikes out of the way. They handled the large, somewhat diverse, order really well and I shall definitely be returning. Thanks for the welcome :-)

I'm so impressed I've booked afternoon tea in their function room for my wife's birthday later this year.

Lovely tea rooms. Very comfortable, good menu, well decorated.

It was a first time visit for my partner and myself. We loved the building and the way it has been decorated, obviously it is well cared for and maintained. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive, the food was lovely and a they have a huge selection of drinks. It is ideal for a quiet lunch. We will make this a regular visit.

Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Annley house tea rooms had our wedding party there and it was amazing.All the staff worked extremely hard to make it a special time for us.They were very helpful,kind and made all of us very welcome.Well done guys and thanks again!!

Ist visit. Shared a ploughman's with my husband. It was enormous & very tasty. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Lovely seating areas both inside & out.

I visited this tea room for the first time today, and was really impressed by the friendly staff, the cleanliness and the huge menu selection, nothing was too much trouble the service was impeccable, I would highly recommend this lovely tea room, I will definitely go back...Thank you xx

I love this place !!!! The staff are amazing soo welcoming, going above and beyond ! My son have allergies and they go out there way to make sure he has everything he wants and needs and make sure he's not left out!! The food is amazing!!!! Always come and have lunch and hot chocolate and it's the best I've had!!! Today I came with my family and had roast dinner for first time and omg!!!! It was amazing!!!!! It was such a lovely dinner!!! A proper home cooked roast dinner !!!! I will be making this a regular thing!!!

I've not had roast dinner like this in a long time!!!!

Husband and I visited tea rooms today (Friday lunchtime) and what a place. 'Tea room' doesn't do the place justice as just beautiful and full of interest. Warming in atmosphere and welcome. Lovely food. Would definitely recommend. �

Had a lovely roast dinner in the private room area - to celebrate a 30th Birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and could not fault the service. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Everything was really well organised which meant we could all enjoy and feel relaxed. Thanks to all at Annleys xxxx

Welcoming staff, nice menu, good service, plenty of space. Have eaten here several times and never been disappointed. Would have been 5 stars if not for the temperature - it was so cold at lunchtime we had to keep our coats on!

Nice place to go - food is great and there is loads of it. What is good is that you can take you dogs into the conservatory when the weather is bad so you dont have to freeze to death. Staff are very welcoming.

We held my daughters baby shower at Annley House yesterday and whilst I can't complain about the quality of the afternoon tea, I found the staff (including owners) uninterested and unhelpful . I asked if they could provide a small table for presents, to be told they didn't have one - bearing in mind that we could see most of the tables in the main tearooms completely empty?? We had to pile presents awkwardly on the unused bar ??

We also asked to have one of the doors opened to the gardens, something that when I booked we were told we could do - to be told that we couldn't open either of them ??

Whilst the afternoon tea was being served and throughout our time spent there, we found all of the staff to be generally unfriendly - luckily didn't spoil our celebration due to the special family and friends that joined us but we won't be going back �

Recently had afternoon tea here. Was very disappointed to see what looked like shop bought cakes! The sandwiches/rolls were very uninspiring. One member of staff was quite rude on a couple of occasions. I would not go there again as I think it was quite expensive and I've been to afternoon tea at several other places for less and much better quality. One good point the scones were very nice, but got fed up asking for more cream and jam!
