One of my favourite restorative yoga poses with the wonderful @margheritadalprayoga at a retreat in @insabinayoga. If you haven’t tried restorative yoga it’s one of the best remedies for fatigue, stress, overwhelm and to generally calm your nervous system and quieten your mind. It requires no flexibility or strength, it’s completely passive. My favourite spot at a yoga retreat in Italy called @insabinayoga. Highly recommend this place if you want to slow down, recharge and spend some time in beautiful scenery. If you suffer from IBS, SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is something you may want to consider. This is where bacteria start to populate in the small intestine (where they shouldn’t be). A breath test can confirm this then there’s lots of treatment options to get it sorted. Another thing I find with patients with IBS is that there is often also SIFO/LIFO (small intestinal/large intestinal fungal overgrowth), LIBO (large intestinal bacterial overgrowth) as well as ...other types of dysbiosis (I’m sure there’s a tongue twister in there somewhere!). I find testing really useful to get to the bottom of what’s going on, and patients find it motivating - seeing results on a piece of paper after months/ years of suffering can be a relief that there is something tangible to get to work on. The @londonclinicofnutrition team taking an exercise break at our team meeting. Sitting is dubbed the “new smoking”, so weaving movement into your day is essential - squats, press ups, jumping up and down - anything to increase blood flow, get the lymphatic system moving and engage muscles that become inactive during long periods of being sedentary. I sometimes only take half a glass of water to my desk so I need to keep popping to the kitchen to refill (stairs involved), I even have a patient who is doing 20 squats in the bathroom every time she goes to the loo! One way to make eating well less expensive is to make a packed lunch. For the next month I’m going to get organised and take my lunches in with me - I kept forgetting and then had to buy lunch out which got expensive and eating things that I wouldn’t normally eat. This is today’s lunch - leftover dinner basically! Making mini egg fritters with spinach, spring onion, fresh herbs etc is great for packed lunch, just add a load of greens and some healthy fat and you’ll feel satis...fied without the dreaded afternoon slump 💤. I always tell my clients to batch cook on a Sunday - put some tunes on dance about make it an uplifting experience, then you can have delicious homemade food to take to work/ or to have for dinner when you get home late. All you need to do is steam some greens to have on the side and you’re good to go.

It’s chewy and crunchy, delicious sliced and piled high with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic olive oil, or slathered with almond butter.
