Roses on the terrace blooming nicely despite the dry summer. Enjoying a few showers today though 🌼🌦️

This is by far my favourite local NT property. The gardens are a treat for the soul, with plenty of places to just sit and “be”. I feel a little lift in my spirits every time I arrive.

I’m very privileged to be a volunteer here.

The Woodland Garden is stunning too, and definitely worth a visit, full of hidden gems and amazing views.

There are free grounds to walk in addition to the house and grounds, with two paid beautiful walks down by the riverside and many features that are recognisable from the Alice in Wonderland film. At the junction of the rivers Tamar and Lynher, it is a stunning location with so much to explore.

Really loved our visit to Antony House we enjoy all our trips to the National Trust Houses and gardens and we will join again when our year is up if you like this kind of thing then I would recommend you join The National Trust great value for money.

Lovely gardens and woodland walk. Our children loved the little beach. Would have stayed longer but closed at five in the summer holidays? Enjoyed the house and had a lovely lunch in the tea rooms. Will defo visit again.

I have driven past Antony House many times over the last 18 years, often wondering what it is like. I popped in on a whim today with the children, after a very stressful day, looking for a place for them to let off steam and run about. My goodness, the building, grounds and gardens are incredible. Tranquil, beautiful, stunning and completely calming. I look forward to returning without the children to look around the house.

Having lived in Torpoint and now in Plymouth we have visited the house on many many occasions and we never tire of it.

We have very fond memories of our son, now in his early thirties having a pony ride at the summer fair they used to hold every year.

The woodland walks are beautiful, with such a variety of trees, bushes and flowers, the bluebells and wild garlic looked stunning yesterday. The summer gardens were in full bloom with tulips, irises, peonies, bleeding hearts and geraniums all putting on a good show.

There is a lovely cafe with both indoor and outdoor eating areas and a very tempting wide variety of homemade cakes.

The house itself will not disappoint either, although still a full time residence of the Carew-Pole family there is still plenty that is open to the public.

All of this makes it a "must do" whether you are local to the area or just here on a visit.

Excellent day out yesterday with our seven year old daughter. Fabulous house amazing grounds... we are very lucky to live here in Cornwall and the beauty of this place amazes me everyday. Keep up the good work National Trust and I am proud to be a member.

Enjoyed a great family day today here. The grounds are beautiful and although it was summer holidays didn't feel overcrowded like these places can get, looking round the house at set times may have something to do with this which is a great idea as felt like we had plenty of time to look around without bumping into people at every corner. The national trust employees in the house were informative and they are great with children something that you don't always find in such places. Another brilliant idea is the find the picture quiz for children which our daughter loved and enabled us as parents to have a good look round whilst our daughter was excited to go and look in every room and look at the pictures. Brilliant afternoon out and will return again highly recommend.

Beautiful setting and house. Packed with family portraits. Very interesting. Grounds spacious and staff very helpful and welcoming. There is parking near the house if you don't fancy the walk uphill from the quay to the house.

As the beekeeper at Antony a house I love the tranquility and peace of the woodlands. The walk around the grounds is full of interesting and beautiful locations, a good place to contemplate life and appreciate being alive.

User

We know Antony House well living just across the Rover Tamar and having visited many times previously. It never disappoints and the grounds and gardens are really well suited to those with young children being spacious and with lots of hideaways. The house is not the best of its type but holds many points of interest. Look for the painting at the top of the main staircase where the little boy in it follows you wherever you are.

User

Great day out. Would be good if there was a till in the ice cream room so you don't have to queue up behind everyone ordering food and drink just to pay for them 😀

User

Beautiful gardens, lovely walks. Noticed in recent years it's getting much busier. - a good thing but the current facilities will need some improvements if it is to cope, the entrance currently through the shop needs changing and the tea rooms are too small. It would be a shame if people were put off visiting because of the queues. Great place to find conkers in the Autumn.

User

Was put off by miserable old volunteer giving you a silly useless talk before entering the house, what that was all about, beggars believe, house OK, no kitchens, no nursery, put by modern heated towel rails , modern BT phone by bed, yes family live there, but these things need to be checked before public enter, scruffy modern towels hanging on modern heated towel rails, as mentioned before, some history available in restaurant, but awkward to view when place has people eating around the area, lovely gardens, best part, silly small shop, blink and you will miss it ......

User

Shame have to go through reception to get to the tea room, was quite busy so didn't look in the shop. Bread for sandwiches didn't seem very fresh today, is this because your closed on Saturdays? Cafe was busy, long queue, nice choice of cakes though. Would help if people read the choice before got there as this would speed up the process. Maybe more menus are needed? Shame you don't open on Saturdays and earlier in the season, you miss out on so much custom! Also more activities could be set up. Glad it's just up the road else it would be a disappointing journey. On leaving the car park the turn is quite sharp and i'm guessing narrow for the larger family car!!

User

Beautiful place. Lovely grounds. The children love the if tree in the middle of the field.

Cafe ok although queued for 40 mins staff need more training on speeding up !!

User

All set to go in gardens then fines out you need £12 in loose money to pay into what's like a parking meter machine, never told you need £12 in loose money to pay, very disappointed.

User

Met by unfriendly fence. How are you supposed to arrive by water transport. Come on National Trust.. This is no way to treat your members arriving by sustainable transport methods.
