We are deeply saddened by the passing of Chuckle Brothers Official' Barry Chuckle. We have had the pleasure of working with both Paul and Barry numerous times across the years, and these are memories that the staff here at Anvil Arts will treasure dearly. A huge loss.

THE HAYMARKET
Challenging a youth to turn down his music, Irene Sparrow, inventor of the left-handed crochet hook (patent pending, as seen on Dragon’s Den) finds herself under suspicion of murder after the train emerges from a tunnel with the young man dead.
But this is no ordinary train, each passenger is reading a book, each book is a portal into a parallel universe of train related crime fiction.
... With clever use of projection and multiple train sets, LipService give you a whistle stop tour that will leave you breathless and racing for the refreshment coach.

Yesterday (Wednesday, 18/4/18) I went to the Gilbert O’Sullivan concert. I came from London & was pleasantly surprised that the theatre was just across the road from the station. In The Anvil itself it was well organised & the auditorium was nice.

User

What an amazing panto production! One of the best yet. If you haven't already booked to see Peter Pan, go do so now. Old and young will really enjoy. It really is for everyone.

User

Went to see the Peter Pan pantomime today. We were lucky enough to have front row seats, in the middle, right behind the musicians... What a fabulous, funny & faultless performance all round! We were transported away for the best part of three hours and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, no mean feat for ages ranging from 5 to 60!!! Big thanks for a great afternoon & well done to all who were part of the show, both on & off stage! X

User

Went to see madam butterfly and it was absolutely fantastic, really enjoyed it, first opera. Venue to was great, good sound and seating comfortable, staff very polite. All in all a great night. Thanks to all the staff.

User

Visited for the first time to see The Solid Gold Rock N Roll Show with Marty Wilde. Sat in row H in the stalls, excellent seats with a good view of the stage. Marty's voice is as strong as it was 60 years ago.! Amazing performances by all of the acts, Marty's backing group were on stage for the whole performance, excellent musicians. Will visit this venue again, easy parking with good access.

User

Totally amazing best night I have had thank you Gilbert OSullivan your show was excellent loved every minute of it and the staff at the Anvil are wonderful

User

This was the second occasion we've seen Milton Jones at the Anvil and it was excellent. The sound is quite good and wasn't over-amp'ed which will distort it. I recall seeing Hank Marvin years ago high up in the back and that was also excellent. It's not a bad theatre at all.

User

Saw The Drifters with my mum last week , excellent performance, My Mum loved it. Also dropped my Daughter and her best friend off the day after to see Dan and Phil great seats and they loved it too . Great venue

User

Saw Mary Chaplin Carpenter with support from Emily Barker. Both gave fantastic performances with an excellent sound set up the Anvil has good acoustics when amplification is set right.

Great service at the bar and interval drinks pre-ordered spot on.

User

Really enjoyed Vampires Rock - Ghost Train when it came to The Anvil las Wednesday night. Vampires Rock - Ghost Train is equally as good as the 1st incarnation of Vampires Rock it features great rock anthems, great entertainment with good gags and laughs all the way. I really hope to be hearing that Steve Steinman and company will be back again in some capacity in 2018 whether it be his Meat Loaf Story show or his brand new show Iconic which looks amazing or Vampires Rock - Ghost Train once again. Over the years Steve Steinman has created very memorable shows and in some shape or form whatever show of his it is I think he deserves yearly annual slot at The Anvil so please I really hope you bring Steve Steinman and company back again to The Anvil in some shape or form in 2018. #5Stars #Fangtastic #SteveSteinmanRocks.

User

Just got back from watching Peter Pan this evening. I have been going with my Friend Karen fennell and her family for the last five years and this year show as been the best yet. i enjoyed it thoroughly as there was no Dame to ruining it with the unnecessary innuendos.

look forward to see what you bring 2018

I was at the Anvil theatre as part of the Rocket Man band.. (Percussion) I have to give a shout out to the house crew and stage door staff. We were made so very welcome and everyone was extremely helpful. Real nice to have teas and coffees in each dressing room. Oh.... great showers too! We had a really nice time and hope it's not too long before we return.

Great evening, with Icons of the 80s, tonight! A special thanks to lovely Anvil manager, Kim, for getting me a poster after the show-- very much appreciated! I hope to come back again soon! ;-)

User

Excellent view of the stage though our seats were on the second tier, due to the steeply raked seating.Seemed quite intimate although seats 1400 I believe Bar has a popular outside balcony, unusual in a town centre theatre.

Saw cirque berserk which were brilliant and highly recommended.

User

Brilliant venue to see people that you want to SEE!!!

Everyone at The Anvil were helpful & friendly,( you don’t get that in many places nowadays!)

Next time I come to see Joe Brown,,, ask him to sign a Ukulele for me!

Would be happy to pay 100.00 over the asking price to get his autograph on it.

Thankyou Anvil,,,, You’re good people, BE PROUD 🤗

User

I thought the Motown night was great. How ever it was very hot with no air con which meant I had to keep still so I didn't sweat to much.

User

Great show we saw Magic of Motown on what was possibly the hottest day of the year, no aircon so was stifling, but the production was fantastic.

User

"Peter Pan" the Panto; what a good afternoon/evening out. Everything you'd expect; Principle 'Boy', a good comedy turn, and a Villain worth booing and hissing to at every appearance. Really corny lines and jokes, but the dancing was good, especially when Peter Pan did 'his' high wire stunts.

User

The seats are very uncomfortable. Not enough room to straighten your knees in front of you, so you end up sitting on the points of your pelvic bone. Two hours of that is not much fun.
