Dispense NHS and Private Prescriptions
During our opening hours we provide a dispensing service for your NHS prescriptions, whether it is from your Doctor, Dentist or Prescribing Nurse. In addition we also dispense private prescriptions. You can arrange this by simply contacting us via our website, email or telephone. Alternatively, you can drop in your prescriptions in our secure post box and we will arrange FREE Delivery of your medication.


Disposal of Medication
We operate a collection service for unwanted medicines from your home if you live in Oldham. If you have any medicines that you no longer use, simply contact us and we will collect and safely dispose of these unwanted medicines in accordance with pharmaceutical legislation and good practice guidelines. If you live outside Oldham and wish to dispose of unwanted medication please take them to your nearest community pharmacy


Electronic Prescriptions (ETP)
We are able to obtain your prescriptions electronically without the need for a paper copy. The Government’s National programme for Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions (ETP) is in the process of being implemented throughout the UK and the majority of surgeries are starting to use this service. Simply ask your GP Surgery to nominate Apex Pharmacy in order for your Prescriptions to be transferred to us automatically. Health Advice & Self-Care

Medicines Management
If you have trouble remembering to take your medication or you know of someone that finds it hard to remember, we can package medicines in our weekly medication trays. Medicines Use Reviews
Our accredited pharmacists will spend time to talk to you about the medicines you take. A medicines use review (MUR) is particularly important if you are taking multiple medicines for long-term conditions. The review will help you get a better understanding of your medicine and the pharmacist will help to identify any problems you are having and suggest possible solutions. Patient Medication Records
Our computer allows us to keep records of all your prescriptions dispensed by us. This helps us check for possible problems, such as reactions between medicines and will help us deal with any queries you may have. We comply with the data protection act and the NHS code of practice on confidentiality.


Repeat Dispensing
We can arrange delivery of your regular repeat prescriptions direct from the pharmacy without you having to visit the doctor each time. If your doctor agrees that you are eligible for this service simply tell them that you would like Apex Pharmacy to arrange all this for you. We would then dispense and deliver your medication and also provide a date for your next supply. We communicate with you and your GP Surgery when required regarding any changes or amendments to your medication.


Repeat Prescription Collection and Delivery Service
