Best pub in the bay for atmosphere during the World Cup (bbq and beers during the England games),

they kindly hosted the filming sessions for my TV thing,

fantastic spot to enjoy some food and drink. Always a nice crowd up there and a cracking view of Torquay too. Highly recommended a jar there if your in town!!

We joined Applebys in the new year celebration for 2017, my husband and I had a great time. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the fireworks display was outstanding. We will be recommending Applebys to all our friends and family.... Thank you for a great night x

We had seen several FB posts about Applebys Sunday lunch so we thought we'd pop yesterday for a nice warm roast dinner after a chilly morning walk.ÿ¢§



Myself & my wife had a roast burrito( bit like a beef wellington, beef, stuffing & horseradish rolled in a Yorkshire pudding mix, as good as it sounds ÿ¢§ÿ¢§) served with roast potatoes & a nice dripping gravy ÿ¢§.And our daughter had a child's roast. It was lovely , plenty to eat , good value for money, good waiter service A great modern twist on a good old Sunday roast. I would recommend going & trying it ÿ¢§ÿ¢§ÿ¢§

We booked here for our wedding reception today. Very helpful and friendly staff. We were able to fully decorate the area and had use of their photo booth which was great! All the guests complimented on how lovely the buffet was. Very happy, thank you :)

We are on holiday. Really enjoyed the evening as Simons band was great. Just spoilt a bit by students screaming round the pool table! Will visit again next time we are in Torquay if the jam band is on again.

The food was excellent my friend and I had the spare ribs the meat just fell off the bones. We had the full rack of ribs. We realised after we should have had a half rack of ribs as it was so much food. Beautiful views and the staff were all very helpful. But there was one thing the drinks were expensive.

Never been there before but enjoyed my pot of tea and cod & chips. Lovely view out over the bay and of course the sun was shinning. Everything looks better then.

Lovely place food great sea view from conservatory and the very nice outside seating area the staff are very friendly and I will miss this place when I go back home .

Just had dinner here nice plus atmosphere is friendly unlike the beefeater next door they really annoyed me trying to get me to sit at table next to the toilets so I walked out and found this great place

I've always liked this place, the staff were great and couldn't of been more helpful and the food is amazing too. I'm really looking forward to going back, thank you for being so accommodating and see you again soon 㘆㘆㘆㘆㘆 :-).

I held a fundraising evening here on Saturday night and the staff and manger Lee couldn't be more welcoming! Joined in with the fun, publicly posted our advertisement and just couldn't do enough! Thank you so much for everything, total so far is ôÈ800.60 and more still coming in! Lydia will get to Boston xxx

10/10 for the food, a great place to meet for lunch or dinner, and to top it all off the view is fab.

We held a function there for our wedding day



The price was good, the food was amazing, and the bar staff were lovely, however these are the only positive things i can say.



Option to play our own discs we were told the speakers in the part of the pub we was in was not working, they played one of our discs and then was handed them back, miraculously when they put there own music back on, the speakers worked fine, so there was no background music for our guests to listen too.



The advertisement that states you get the photobooth, was changed by email to props only. Which we did not see, luckily our photographer went home for her props.



The toilets were being used by regulars, where they were sniffing drugs, making it a horrible environment for our guests and kids.



All this was finished off by regulars walking through the area we had booked, even though we was reassured that it would be closed off when we paid.



All in all, although this looks like a good deal, please be aware that everyone's experiences are different, we were just the unlucky ones.

We found the food very poor I had the wraps which was hard the beef was very dry, out of the 6 meals we had the ham egg &chips was the best

Nice friendly staff. Ordered two margarita pizzas, dreadful, small, tasteless, more like microwave pizzas! These were not stone baked as advertised! The food will put me off ever returning here.

The staff were really rude. I asked questions about the menu and they gave me sarcastic answers and started laughing at me. I did not find it amusing.

The "gourmet" burgers were burnt!

I'm simply not impressed and I would not come back.

My company was good but the function room was shocking couldn't decorate as we wanted ... bar staff were.rude ... I was given the run around on The phone about my party and The function room just days before now I'm being told I.didn't have enough people to get my deposit back witch is a load of.bull .... My dj that I paid.for ... had to play to the entire pub .that shouldn't have happened.. nothing went.our way because ur all a bunch of.incompetent UN helpful rude people ... the dirty looks we got from ur staff were disgusting.... I will never recommend this plAce and we will never be back thanks.for.nothing

I was very impressed with the food, menu was so good I found it hard to choose! Staff were friendly too. However, the fact that two young children were allowed to run around, and not a word said by the father who was just there to watch the sport, did not make the lunch very enjoyable. If it had not been for this then I would have stayed longer. Am in two minds now as to whether to go back again. Management, please take note!!!
