About Apsley Paper Trail

Apsley Paper Trail is a working industrial heritage charity and social enterprise, based at Frogmore Mill, the birthplace of the world's first paper machine 210 years ago, and Apsley Mills, the original John Dickinson works. We operate a visitor and education centre, where we use the recycled paper theme to enthuse people about the history and future of paper manufacturing, recycling and sustainability, and sell specialist papers for arts, crafts and commercial uses. We run a variety of practical paper-related education courses and workshops for individuals, families, schools and businesses. We also provide workspaces for about 30 small businesses, and a research ‘incubator' for researching and developing new uses for paper.
