It's with great sadness that I have to announce that Aquatica will be closing it's doors on Wednesday 3rd October.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers who have supported the store for this last year and a bit to help make it a success, we have loved being a part of the community!
... Our fish and other stock will be relocated to our local Jollyes stores Cannock and Willnehall, so you will still be able to get your hands on anything you have had you eye on.

***🐬🎣🐟WEIRD AND WONDERFUL AQUATIC FACT!🐟🎣🐬*** If you ever travel to Laguna in Brazil be sure to keep an eye on the coastline, there are a group of dolphins there that have been helping the local fishermen catch fish for at least 120 years! These dolphins work with the fishermen by herding the fish towards them, then using their tails to signal when the men should cast out their nets. Due to the murky waters these men would be unable to catch fish without their assistance. Out of the large group of dolphins there are only around 20 that take part in this behaviour, nobody knows why it's just these few, or how they teach this to younger dolphins. After being observed for several years researchers also have no idea why they do this at all when they seemingly gain very little from it!

***🌿🌺🌿In bloom!🌿🌺🌿*** If you're looking for a pond plant that will flower late into the year we've got just the thing for you! Our water mint plants have some beautiful lilac flowers on show at the minute. They will flower from July to October. Water mint is also a preferred plant for newts to lay their eggs on, so if you have newts in your pond it's definitely recommended to add one of these!

***🐠🎨🐚Pufferfish Picasso🐚🎨🐠*** How amazing is this little guy!

***🦔🌿🦔Is your pond hedgehog safe?🦔🌿🦔*** Hedgehogs are a fantastic addition to your garden, their pest contol skills are far superior to ours and don't involve any nasty checmicals!🦗🐌🐛 You should always take extra care with your ponds if you have a resident hedgehog, or a visiting one. While they are actually very good swimmers, they get exhausted easily and quite often drown in ponds. You can help these little guys out with a few simple additions to your pond. 🦔 Create a slop...ed edge so that they can easily walk out of the water. 🦔 Place some rocks and stones on a slope to give them a little more to grip on to, these can be fixed in place safely using our King British pond repair kit. 🦔 Use chicken wire to make a ramp. You can cover this with twigs that have been secured into place to make it look a bit more natural. 🦔 Build a wooden ramp. Be sure to add some little bits of wood going across to create steps because wet wood will get quite slippery. You will also need to make sure your ramp is secured in place so it doesn't move as they climb out. 🦔 Plant some marginal plants around the edge. Make sure the plant baskets are just below the surface of the water and the hedgehogs will be able to climb on top of them to make their way out of the pond. 🦔 Give them a place to dry off! If they do fall into your pond they could do with some shelter to dry off and get warm. This could be something as simple as a pile of logs or leaves in a nice secluded corner of the garden!
Did you know our sister store Jollyes Cannock sells hedgehog food? I'm sure those prickly little guys will have worked up quite an appetite after all that swimming!

I'm a pearl gold albino axolotl, I don't have a proper name yet but I've been nicknamed 'Freckles' because I've got beautiful glittery specks aaall over me! My favourite things are eating, nibbling on fingers and swimming around looking fabulous! If you have an axolotl shaped hole in your life, I'm here to fill it. We are new to keeping an aquarium and we lost a few fish � It's with great thanks to Blake and Imogen who spent a long time with me going through everything, testing my water and advising what to do that our tank is now much healthier and our fish are doing well. I can not recommend the staff at aquatica highly enough.

Prices were good, lowest Iv seen in a fish Store,I’ve Visited 3 times & haven’t left empty handed,would recommend a Visit

Helpful, informative staff and great prices definitely be back. Thank you. X
