About Aqueous Humour Theatre Company

Just Turf is a comedy show. When we make it we will decide our next move.

Aqueous Humour Theatre Company Description

“Just Turf” is a poignant, original and dark exploration of one woman’s personal fantasy to dance with Michael Flately and smother him in her prize winning creamy mashed potato.

Like many Irish families Maisie’s siblings have migrated across the globe and as the youngest she is left at home, dealing with her demanding, ailing, feckless father. Vexed, Maisie spends her days furiously shining her dancing shoes, before banging out her one two three’s in an elaborate, hand stitched, hand washed, velour panelled dress.

The only sanctuary and solace for her is found in the field by her house, when she tends her prize winning, blight resistant potatoes. It’s the versatility of the crop that pleases her most, if only there was someone to help her fervently whisk her crop into silky white mash to the beat of traditional music. Where is that someone to alleviate the longing brought on by the half-naked tanned muscular torso of the Riverdance calendar 2006.

This is a play on a passion of youth, now lost in a starchy, tuberous crop and the frustration of the dance repeatedly whumped out on a hard kitchen floor.

Confirmation from the Charity Commission has come through and Aqueous Humour has officially closed. The Sky Muffins have been, albeit reluctantly, permanently grounded.
We would like to thank all of the people (and there are many!) who helped us to create so much laughter over the years. We had a good run at it but it is time goodbye to Aqueous Humour
It's not all bad though we (Nerissa and Tom) will carry on working together on new projects.
... We are going indoors!
Come and see our, work in progress, stage show "Just Turf" on the 19th July at The Met in Bury as part of the Greater Manchester Fringe.

Our friends at Little Soldier Productions have asked me to share this with you. (see letter below) They are working at Home Manchester developing their new piece. Please contact them directly if you are interested in working with them. I am sure it will be a lot of fun.
Hello,
We are Little Soldier Theatre Company and we will be developing our next show here at HOME, starting next week. It’s a show about politics and Rock&Roll, but we are not selling an idea and we are not c...ampaigning for any political party.
We need your help To ensure that this production is genuinely outward-facing, reaching and inspiring wide audiences, we would like to hear your thoughts. On Monday the 5th of October at 7pm, we will be gathering at HOME to have an Open Space under the title: how can we change the world? We would love to know what things in life matter the most to you. No experience in politics and/or theatre is necessary.
What can you expect from the evening? To start with, the artistic directors will introduce Little Soldier’s work and perform 20 minutes of new material. After that, we will proceed to a number of discussions around the theme ofchange. There is no pre-planned list of topics, only time slots and a space in the rehearsal room where interested participants propose topics and pick time slots.
It doesn't matter if you contribute a little or a lot. And you'll probably be surprised that you may know something that others may not. Everyone has something to give!
Get in touch and join us! We would love you to join us next Monday. If you are interested, please get in touch via admin@littlesoldierproductions.co.uk and we’ll send you more details about the evening.
Warmest,
Little Soldier Productions @LittleSoldierP www.littlesoldierproductions.co.uk
