Padstow holds many fond memories for my family and I. While I grew up in nearby Trevone, my friends and I would spend a great deal of time in Padstow. We would hang out at the beaches along the estuary, hop across to Rock on the ferry or simply sit on the quay dangling our feet over the edge. My first ever job was at a fudge shop on the harbour where I possibly ate more than I sold!

Whenever I return to Padstow and I start walking down the hill, through the old part of town, I take it all in: the beautiful quirky old houses, the smell of the sea, the gulls crying over the picturesque harbour, musicians playing on the bandstand and the pasties cooking! Quite often, in the bustle of the town, I’ll bump into a dear friend.
I hope that everyone who stays at Arbel will also enjoy Padstow and all it has to offer and take home many warm memories from this very special part of Cornwall.
