Traditional in modern surroundings and you can converse !!!!
This pub has been a key factor in my happiness as itβs my dogs favourite pub! I can not walk past the door without my pup wanting to go in! He doesnβt even drink which means cheap round! Top place and the staff are bloody lovely too.
I've put off leaving a review after over 50 visits to this pub, but make no mistake: this is the best pub in Headingley, and maybe the best in all of Leeds. The staff are both friendly and incredibly knowledgable about beers.
The only reason this pub doesn't have a five-star overall rating on Facebook is due to the fact that they don't allow groups or fancy dress. This is per their license - so ignore the 1 star reviews, as the pub has no control over that.
Overall, there is no better place to have a pint in the area. There's a wide variety of ales on both keg and hand-pull that rotate regularly, with selections you'll not find anywhere else. If you see me in there, feel free to say hello!
Happy, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and sometimes crazy staff, great range of beers, tasty burgers, gorgeous dogs, fantastic regulars, best pub in Headingley by leaps and bounds! Great for a bustling friendly night at weekends and a perfect little haven during the week. This is why I work here! :-)
Easily the best pub in Headingley and I like that Arcadia don't allow big groups as it creates a more cosy, local atmosphere. Great choice of beers/ciders and dogs are allowed too! My only regret is that I don't go often enough (due to being a parent). Keep up the good work! π x
Been popping into this pub for the last year or so. Great selection of beer, friendly and efficient staff and not allowing large groups or otley runs gives it a nice cosy vibe.
Been coming to Arcadia for years now. My favourite local. Regularly visit on a Friday night. Great selection of ales (and gins), friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere - no loud music or groups. Always a nice place for a pint.
Arcadia has been my favourite pub since I moved here in 2008. A smooth relaxed atmosphere with no Otley runners!!!!!. The beer is clean and tasty and there is always a really nice variety too.
I cant recommend it highly enough!
Ah shit mate, I just tried the cheese and chipolata board! Ok, this pub is known for fantastic beer, and that's nothing new to those who frequent it, but it has just panned friends of ham in the beer, cheese and ham stakes in my opinion! If you are a discerning beer drinker, this place will satisfy you. If you are looking for cheese and delicious sausage at the same time, this place will seem like heaven!!!
I was taken in by the name, and stayed for a delicious beer. Though i feel I paid London prices, is that normal?
Love this place, great als, great feel. Think it is starting to need a bit of TLC with damp areas and decor. Great Leeds experience for me an East Midland girl
New paint job has come with a price hike. A pint of cider has gone up by 45p!! Although a regular I'm avoiding until they sort this out. Sister pub the Town Street Tavern in Horsforth is still operating at normal prices thank heavens.
Went on Saturday after the football with my husband and son, heβd had a sing song with people outside and when we went in my husband got served then a barman said my son wasnβt to have a drink and told my husband on his head be it. We sat there quietly and when I went to bar to get myself another drink I was refused as Iβd let my son have an alcoholic drink. (Heβs actually 29 years old ) I was disgusted as we had done nothing wrong. Itβs not surprising people complain about this place !!!!
We were a group of ADULTS out celebrating our end of course last night. We tried to get a drink in here and were refused service because there were 9 of us - we were not drunk or rowdy and were not allowed to split into two groups. To get served. We are all sensible civil servants and one of our colleagues a serving police officer. Where is the common sense? In all honesty it wasn't that busy and you probably missed out on quite a lot of custom from us. No wonder bars are shutting at a speedy rate when you do this!
Rude staff and I wasn't even drinking I was the driver.
Really poor experience last night in Arcadia. I understand the policy on serving groups, (even though I don't necessarily agree with it) BUT, the attitude and sheer rudeness of the bar man was quite shocking.
Not content with being obnoxious when serving me, he was even worse when clearing the glasses from our table as we were leaving.
Needless to say, I won't be visiting again.
I must echo Laura's review below. I was in the same group.
I understand the need to exclude rowdy groups from pubs and venues, but we were a delightful group; they didn't even give us a chance! I had just walked in when they were asking us to go back outside.
What if we had walked in as 12 individuals who didn't know each other? Or 4 groups of 3? Does it even make a difference? Maybe I've missed something but I honestly don't get it.
We're certainly not returning, so don't worry about us any more.
Come on guys, sort it out or you'll be shut soon.
Been turned down due to been in a big group a few times can't say it's been worth the wait. Plenty of other real ale and craft beer places in Leeds that are happy to serve groups of 5
Awful! Went in for food at 3pm and got turned away because apparently my 7 month old son who was asleep wasn't allowed in, yet there was a number of dogs that were extremely loud! I'm not being funny but that is absolutely ridiculous, it's not like he would be sipping pints!
Awful service!
