What a wonderful way to end a bank holiday yesterday with a scrumptious afternoon tea. Everything homemade and delicious and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We were so full I didn't eat anything else until breakfast this morning! We will definitely be back

User

What a lovely place with a real vintage feel. Everything is homemade, bread, cakes and jam! Beautiful sandwiches and cake, at great prices. Vintage tablecloths, with proper napkins and wartime tunes create a special visit. Will be back again soon!

User

Stopped here for spontaneous lunch...hidden away is a lovely surprise. Had the cheese plate and partner had the Ploughmans - fantastic. What made it for me was the attention to detail, linen napkins, tea in a pot, china, coffee in a pot...not just one cup. Will be back. Well done on a lovely place.

User

Stopped for a tea and cake. Lovely hidden gem with everything homemade. I had ginger and Apple sponge cake which was so light and moist. There was initially only one table left which they cleared quickly for us. Will definitely return.

User

Oh my goodness!!!!!

Today we ate some of the most delicious food ever!!!! The owner must have a fantastic pallet and taste for flavours!!!! Nothing I say will do this place justice! And it wasn't expensive!!! Go here!!! Try it!!!!!

User

My wife and I enjoy afternoon tea at The Arches so much it is now on our "must visit" list when friends and relatives come to stay!

User

Lovely little tea room, tucked out of the way on Bailgate. The staff were lovely, the food was amazing and the place is spotless. It's vintage style, and it's definitely going to see me again!

User

Lovely little place hidden away and a real gem. Had the ginger, walnut and chocolate home baked cake. Scrumptious

User

Lovely cheese platter and generous drinks. Excellent value for money

User

Lovely atmosphere, like being transported back to the 1940’s. Very tasty homemade scone and a cuppa too...

User

Love this place. All homemade and delicious! The afternoon tea was so good xx

User

I visited Arches Tearoom yesterday...what a wonderful little place this is! The food is absolutely delightful and the variety of tea's are lovely. Everything is home made, they also make their own pickles n jams which they sell. Cannot recommend this little gem enough, go visit you won't be disappointed...

User

Had the ploughmans. Absolutely delicious. On another note, had the little one with us and nice that they provide proper high chairs, not those wooden ones that you pull up to the table that most places have that aren't really suitable for babies. Would definitely visit again. Also must mention the fudge that came with the hot chocolate that my husband had. Even more delicious than the fudge at the fudge shop on the bailgate!

User

Had soup & cake here last week, it was homemade pea soup & homemade brown bread...absolutely amazing! I could have had 2 bowls worth! The chocolate and peanut butter cake was amazing also. Will definitely be back.

User

Beautiful little hidden gem :) gorgeous atmosphere, lovely 1940's styling. Staff are fantastic too.

User

Absolutely beautiful place. Had afternoon tea and it was lush! Staff very attentive and accommodating. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you

User

A quaint old fashioned ( for all the right reasons ) tea room with a lovely 1930's feel . Edith Piaf on the radio .. clotted cream scone was amazing and I can't tell you how hard it is to find a tearoom who does a plain scone ! I'd definately come back 😊

User

A lovely little find, hidden away on the Bail. Great food, lovely atmosphere and very accommodating staff. Will definitely visit again

User

A fabulous find! We had afternoon tea and it was amazing. Pretty much everything we had was homemade, bread, chutney, cakes and you could tell. Lovely vintage surroundings, crockery and table cloths. Highly recommended.
