Waddington Fell is our biggest quarry at 66 Acres.
The quarry offers a range of sandstones, variable in strength and colour and has been worked in the traditional method of crushing and screening following blasting to produce aggregate materials.
The stone from Waddington fell also forms excellent cut products such as fireplaces, lintels, even complete houses.

They say a picture can say a thousand words and that is certainly the case with this one!
Here you can see a large portion of our aggregates production line in one image.
You have our Dumper truck offloading some of the larger stone from a recent blast to a pile. You can see two of our excavators working, one picking and breaking the larger stone into smaller chunks, The other loading the crusher.
... Finally you can see the crushed aggregate being made, ready to go through the washer to be separated by its size.

We love this picture of Transport manager Sam Armstrong on site at Montcliffe Quarry!
Montcliffe’s gritstone is worked using the traditional method of crushing and screening following blasting. This long-used technique helps Armstrongs’ professionals to produce aggregate materials of exceptional quality.

It's fascinating to see the transformation our stone goes through to reach its final desired state.

Thank you so much for ending your involvement with AE Yeats and Cuadrilla. We, in the anti-fracking movement, realise this could not have been an easy decision, but it's the right one. Your children and grandchildren will thank you for not assisting with the destruction of their land and water and for keeping the air clean. We can only hope that other companies follow your lead. Many, many thanks.

Thank you from the bottom of all my families heart for pulling out from helping the Fracking monsters who are deliberately killing people and all of nature by poisoning our waters for money.. You have shown us that Armstrong have morals and care about your neighbours and protect your own drivers too, as this practice has made many drivers gravely ill.. Please do all you can to stop other haulage firms from helping these monsters of death too if you can.. from an extremely grateful Scottish trucker Thank you !..
