Art Refuge Uk

Art Refuge UK is a small robust charity, applying its expertise in art therapy to work with people who have been displaced due to trafficking, asylum seeking and political conflict. Rooted in the experience of visual art making and art therapy, our programmes offer crucial opportunities to make art, reflect, share and develop safe art making practice.

Supported by a strong team of trustees to provide carefully assembled needs-led programmes with experienced artists and art therapists on the ground in Kathmandu and Calais, we are able to establish and maintain meaningful connections with local organisations to really listen to what and where the needs are, and so we are able to cover good ground.

More recently our art therapists have been planning for the new project in the Caais refugee camps and responding to the emergency and post emergency phases following the 7. 9 and 7. 4 magnitude earthquakes in Nepal.

Art Refuge UK aims to:

provide displaced people with a foundation for personal growth
bear witness to their experiences
nurture resilience through art therapy, safe art making practice, psychosocial art therapy,
provide training and support to those who support displaced people
