What an amazing show. Just two incredibly powerful actors portraying Lucille Ball, who was a very funny lady but in her private life very sad, and her friend fir the last ten years if her life who filled a big void in her latter years.

User

This play was really funny well written and thoroughly entertaining. It’s a very small theatre so you can sit anywhere and get a good view. It’s not on for long but well worth going if you can.

This is a great little theatre. There are no bad seats. I went to see Rotterdam. It was one of the best theatre experiences that I have had for a long time. The venue was a great help in delivering performances from the heart to the audience. The casting. Script. Direction. Balance between comedy and pathos. Just being there and experiencing the whole thing was such a pleasure.

User

The Arts Theatre in the heart of Covent Garden is a small intimate theatre on one level with a large bar in the foyer. I don't think it's possible to have a bad seat, I've sat at the front, in the middle and at the back on different occasions and have always had a great view of the stage. Because of it's location the bar is open to the public and even if you're not seeing a show it's a great place to meet friends

Just seen JUDY! And wow I am still reeling. I can't get over how amazing this show is, this is the most accurate truthful portrayal I have ever witnessed on stage, it's crammed with so many jaw dropping facts which was so brave to expose and the story was simply brilliantly told. To have the 3 Judys playing in Parallel was genius and have the show pinpoint each Judy around her 3 big career mile stones Oz, Palace Opening and the The Judy Garland Show Tv Series was spectacular. All the Judy Actresses were outstanding and full of life and so close to real Judy I can't get over it and fully deserved the standing ovation. This show is so much better than End of the Rainbow. If your not a Judy fan you soon will be watching this! It finishes Saturday so catch it if you can.

User

Judy was fantastic - all 3 of them! Such a clever, intricate way to weave the 3 generations of Garland. Amazing acting and fabulous singing. Supporting cast blew me away with their acting & musical abilities. Would highly recommend. 2nd time to Arts Theatre, nothing fancy but a marvellous venue with an intimate feel

User

I was drawn into the story from the start. So many goosebump moments. First class performances from all 3 actresses who managed to encompasses the, not just outrageously talented Judy Garland but her fantastic wit and intellect as well as her humanity against the backdrop of so much exploitation. Having Judy portrayed simultaneously in 3 stages of her life worked brilliantly and should serve as an example of how to do it should this become a film...but how do u cram so many highlights and talent into one film. Longing for a revival already.

User

I love this small, intimate theatre. Space is friendly as well as staff. Theatre is 'well-worn' and I know that many bottoms have been in seats before mine. Great place to visit for a drink even if you aren't going to a show. Be sure to visit when it is busy as the vibey atmosphere is heart lifting.

User

Honestly - I attended "I loved Lucy" with not perhaps the highest expectation as I'm not of the generation of the shows. This coupled together with not having visited the venue before.

Well how wrong can I have been.

What a really poignant, eye opening performance telling the story of the twilight years of an American icon.

Sandra Dickinson wAs spot on in her depiction of Lucille Ball - not the 80's squeaky voiced actress. She played the role in a believable manner. Her support Matthew Scott was equally believable and a great narrator.

I came away a bit in awe, not only of Ball but also of Dickinson and Scott.

I genuinely urge readers to go and have a great night at this quirky atmospheric venue.

Really, really enjoyed it.

Great service, great theatre, great jen i Will come back. Thirith from france.

User

Fab show ! All 3 Judy's had amazing voices !

Loved the Arts theatre , not been before , we had great seats & interval drinks .

I Took my mum Who is a huge fan , she was singing along & foot tapping the whole time !

Stage set with 'flashbacks ' over Judy's life was so well done!

I live all the way down by the coast so a long journey for me , but so worth it ! Great night !

User

Attended the concert performance of "The Prince" and what a fabulous show. So well orchestrated and professional cast. Laughed, cried everything I could of wished for in a show. Lovely little theatre, good customer service too 😃 Highly recommend!

User

A lovely little theatre in the heart of the West End. Now it may be little but it's by no means cramp, plenty of leg room and seats are comfy. They put on some lovely shows too. Staff always welcoming and friendly. If you visit please make sure you visit the bar, I imagine the money they get from the shows hardly covers their costs.

User

The theatre is a lovely quint place with a lovely atmosphere and ambiance with very friendly staff.

The play was excellent.

The one complaint which was virtually universal was the 'snugness' of the Gents by the stalls. Four people and the place was full!

User

Judy is an entertaining poignant tour down the yellow brick road & beyond. Beautiful & sad and a reminder of the brutality of the industry. 3 very strong actresses / singers for key stages on Judy Garland's life which beautifully interweave and overlap developing a tapestry of a celebrated life. And The Arts Theatre were welcoming and the space was enjoyable and comfortable for this production!

User

A lovely little theatre on the heart of the Westend. Take a coffee or wine into the show with you. Experiencing The Room above The Arts Theatre is a must - fabulous and The Vignettes were amazing. A dream way of spending a Sunday afternoon!

User

Toxic Avenger was great, very funny. Theatre was intimate (which is great), but really needed a bit of money spent on it. Seats rocked when you moved, and it looked like it needed TLC. Toilets were surprisingly good.

User

The Arts Theatre does put on interesting shows; sometimes revivals, sometimes new avant-garde productions. The seats aren't the most comfortable and the decor probably doesn't stand up well to daylight scrutiny. The staff is friendly but interval drink orders can be a bit erratic (twice ours have either been incomplete or not prepared at all); but, all in all, we generally have a good night out here.

User

I guess "bijou" and "intimate" are better words than small and cramped to describe the Arts Theatre but it's an appropriate setting for productions like The Wipers Times, which I saw last night, and which would be lost on bigger stages. It was a fantastic play, deservedly playing to full houses.

My only criticisms relate to matters off stage: insufficient programmes for sale (I was lucky enough to buy the last one and had several approaches to buy it from me at the interval) and insufficient ice cream (I wasn't so lucky there). It really can't be too difficult to predict demand for such things and ensure appropriate stock is available.

Less easy to put right is the matter of the toilets: The gents is the size of a large wardrobe, into which a urinal, two cubicles and a single wash basin have been crammed. Theoretically 4 people can be accommodated at any one time but in practice you are elbow to elbow from the moment you enter and it's impossible to open the inwardly opening door without striking or inconveniencing an occupant mid flow. Go before you go is my advice.

To end on a positive: the staff are delightful, friendly, efficient and extremely helpful.
