Ascerta Description
Leading experts in landscape architecture, arboriculture and ecology, with an established record of delivering key project inputs on time and within budget.
Widely respected as the company to achieve positive results for clients by identifying and addressing problems at an early stage.
Every year many projects across the UK falter and are exposed to risk of failure because of poor identification of constraints and opportunities at an early stage. By engaging with us at concept stage we can advise on feasibility and focus on opportunities to minimise project duration and financial risk.
We operate nationally and work with many of the UK's leading companies on a wide variety of projects.
Our clients include developers, architects, planning consultants, renewable energy companies, housing associations, airports, engineers, loss adjusters, insurers and land / estate owners.
We welcome opportunities to work with clients across the UK and beyond, no matter how big or small the project is.

As the rain falls on the north west, the sun shines on a little part of the south east at least as our surveyors gather tree and ecology data on a new site.
Biodiversity Net Gain.
If you are a developer and haven't heard of it then you are sure to hear of it soon.
Government has mandated through the forthcoming Environment Bill that some development projects must demonstrate a net gain in biodiversity directly as a result of development. Local Planning Authorities are starting to insist on it already.
... This move is supported by the recent revisions to the NPPF and a new British Standard on the design and delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain coming out soon.
For access to our breakfast briefing on what the implications of this are and how to minimise their impact on your development, get in touch with us.
This is a must attend event to help developers futureproof their plans.

Lovely afternoon for a site visit...
Bank Holiday weekends......time for some R&R before the bat survey season fully kicks in! We've already had two teams out conducting activity surveys on our projects, with a diary that's pretty full now for the foreseeable future. Extra resources are being pulled in to cope with the demand and we're delighted with our team of seasonal ecologists!

Dear Developers........this is a must see for you. It's not going away. The good news is that in most cases it's quite easy to achieve those net gains. https://deframedia.blog.gov.uk/…/govern ment-to-mandate-bio…/
A study by the University of Surrey shows that roadside hedges are more effective at reducing pollution from cars than just trees. So, not only are they valuable for wildlife, they're valuable to us humans as well! We kinda knew that though didn't we? Hail the hedge! 😍
Pinch punch, first day of the month! More importantly first day of the bird nesting season, and not long till the great crested newt season kicks off. Developers.......are you prepared?
Natural England (the body that deals with protected species applications) reportedly facing cuts of up to £8m. Not good news for developers. Likely to increase delays in processing applications.
Reports that the current warm spell could mean an early start to Japanese knotweed growth. Good! Early growth = early identification = early treatment!
