Ascoli's accessories are gender free, functional and understated. Meticulously designed, and handcrafted in Italy from the finest quality leather, each piece presents a challenge to the artisans: to make small pleasures from simple things. Having lain dormant for over 20 years, the original brand Ascoli1908 was rekindled in 2011 by the founder's great-granddaughter Sofia, and fellow designer Sara, who preserve the family's long-standing rapport with the artisans and over a century of heritage. Today, Sofia and Sara challenge the artisans to apply traditional techniques to clean contemporary designs. They also love to work with other brands on one-off projects, and have so far been commissioned to create upcycled bags for a museum, personalized corporate gifts crafted from a factory's conveyor belt, and all manner of unique pieces. Everything Ascoli1908 makes is designed for those who appreciate not only the look of the leather, but the feel, the scent, and the individual touch of the artisan.
