Asda Lower Earley Supercentre

Self service only after 10pm on Friday last week. Had a trolley and the staff were not allowed to use their own initiative and jump on tibhelp me. I took 40 minutes at the self serve as the scanner was not working. At one point 2 staff were talking for 4 minutes. Terrible management decision. The worst service I have received for a long time. Asda please give your staff the opportunity to think for themselves and do not the their hands.

Went to the cafe for a bit of breakfast, really speedy service, they sorted a really good veggie breakfast even though it wasn’t on the menu. Food was yummy. Asked for tap water and condiments and the staff were so quick and helpful even asking if we wanted another glass after he saw there were two of us. Also kids lunch box really good price

My preferred superstore in Reading. Lots of free parking, 24 hours open, good selection, reasonable prices, pharmacy, boots, hairdresser, cafe, newsagent and post office. It also has the cheapest diesel/petrol in town.

I phoned to check that what I wanted was in and the assistants couldn't have been more helpful, but having never been to the store before and approaching it in darkness with no direction signs illuminated I circled around outside the car park once, finding no entrance. Second time round I had to take any gap I could find and make it my entrance. The exit signs were similarly invisible at night, with interesting consequences.

Shelves were well stocked with good variety and choice of fresh food at reasonable price. I completed my shopping within half hour and rushed to get my petrol but found station closed due to refurbishment.
Overall a good experience.

It's OK, I guess. However they have little or no organic produce and the post office staff are always in a rush to serve you and aren't very polite. However, some of the smaller shops in the complex are quite good.

Open 24h with many cheap food. Excellent!

Cheap, good range of products.
Staff are helpful.

Downside is the fact that it's very busy in the weekend and sometimes the staff stock up making it even more crowded.

Not my first choice by far but very local and so use it to do top-ups, as there is the odd good line. I never shop late so cannot comment. Self-service machines now need renovating, too many "call-assistant" of late for no reason.
