The sun is shining and it's getting to that time of year when we all have a good 'Spring Clean'!
Don't forget that we have a toy collection bank here at Ashbourne Lodge as well as a clothing bank to fundraise for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance.
If you are having a clear out, please donate any unwanted toys and clothing at the drop off point in our carpark.
... Last year we helped fund three life saving rescue missions and would love to help with even more this year!

The weather might not be as nice as last week, but we had lots of fun indoors today, getting creative and using different fruits and vegetables to create these fabulous colourful prints!

We love a sing song here at Ashbourne Lodge! This week we had some fabulous entertainment from the lovely Jennifer Green - her singing had all the residents joining in and clapping!

The pancakes for elevenses yesterday weren't enough for our residents, they were so delicious they wanted more for tea!
Activity co-ordinator Stacy did a great job flipping 40 of these tasty treats yesterday afternoon! #yummy #pancakeday

On the 19th Dec 2018, we were notified that our home had received the Derbyshire end of life quality award. A couple of days ago on the 13th Feb, we were proud to be presented with this award from Jane Carr - the end of life facilitator. This is now the second time running we have been recognised for this award we couldn't be more proud! A huge thank you to everyone involved!

We've absolutely adored hearing these stories about our residents' other halves. We're taking time to remember their love this Valentine's day by sending off a balloon to let their loved ones know their love and their story will last forever. Happy Valentines Day.

We're looking forward to a lovely valentines day here at Ashbourne Lodge. After raising a fab £190 from this great raffle we're all feeling the love. Proceeds will go towards planning activities and events for our residents. Happy Valentines Day!

We've had Seamus the rescue dog and his owner Emma with us today. The residents love the dogs coming in so they can have a play and enjoy some friendly company. It's also great for calming anxiety and relieving stress. #Winner #Dogtherapy

Today we had a Dignity in Care day where our amazing residents, Vera, Pat and Jen helped us to install another dignity tree adding more of their own comments to this sparkly new one. Doesn't it look great! 🌳

What a busy afternoon we had at Ashbourne Lodge yesterday, we enjoyed, a music workshop which was fab and fun was had by all! A therapy dog called Lily who is sitting on Edna’s knee and Edna blowing out her candles on her birthday cake! We're so glad everyone enjoyed the day 🤗🤗

Yesterday morning we had the pleasure of having a local pre-school visit, from the ladybird's playgroup, join our residents for some singing and games! Everyone has learned lots from each other and had a great laugh whilst doing it. 🤗

We have been visited by Charlotte yesterday who has been leading a music workshop at Ashbourne Lodge. Our residents have really enjoyed picking up an instrument and playing along with her. It's never too late to learn something new! 🎷🥁🎻🎹

Did someone say Pamper Day? We're starting the day with a lovely pamper session because there's nothing better than time to unwind whilst being looked after! Thanks, Stacy for giving the residents great hand massages and manicures - they absolutely loved it. 💅🙌

We just love picking up a paintbrush and letting the creative juices flow! Interesting fact; painting actually helps strengthen memory, builds problem-solving and motor skills as well as being an amazing stress reliever. 🙌
So why not pick up a brush and get creative with us too! Matisse, Van Gogh, Picasso eat your heart out! 🎨

We loved celebrating May's 100th birthday with her this weekend - we had quite a party with cake, balloons and a singer!
It was fascinating hearing all about what May has achieved in her lifetime and we love knowing we’ve done all we can to help her reach such a special age and celebrate it in style!

Yesterday we had the amazing Glyn Jones pop in to have a sing-song with our residents, their very own concert, and it was received with great joy. Thank you so much Glyn for visiting us and ensuring we all had a great time. 🤗🎤

At 2pm today in our blue lounge we have another sitting of our weekly Dementia Cafe. A chance to come together and discuss all things Dementia. These are great times to gain support with information for a family member, or simply meet other people who are also dealing with similar experiences. Whatever your requirements we are here to help. Come along and visit a session for your self. 🤗
