Ashburton Fire Station

Our crews joined Buckfastleigh fire station today as this incident today.

Good evening Facebookers, this morning at 9:30 ourselves along with Buckfastleigh were mobilised to reports of a road traffic collision between a lorry and a car on the A385 near Allerton with persons to be trapped. Upon arrival crews quickly confirmed one female trapped within the vehicle who was being assessed by the paramedics. crews rapidly set to work to release the driver using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools. Due to the fact a lorry was involved the Air amb...ulance were on standby and equipped with a team of highly skilled Doctors. The driver was cut free from the vehicle and assessed by the medical team and conveyed to hospital via land ambulance. Thankfully, the young lady who was wearing her seatbelt and the deployment of the cars safety airbags undoubtably saved her from further serious injury.
