Good morning !! Due to negative comments regarding the use of the hot tubs on the first day of arrival I feel it is necessary to explain our method of work and why. After each guest checks out each hot tub is emptied, cleaned, refilled and switched on to heat up. There is a 1000 litres of water per hot tub and can roughly take around nine hours to get to the set temperature. Due to health and safety legislation the tubs have to be tested twice a day and all information recor...ded. Our maintenance men are very well trained in looking after the tubs, they attend regular courses and are extremely knowledgable in the particular infections you could pick up in a poorly treated hot tub. All guests have a hot tub guideline document to read and sign when checking in this is also available in your lodge. The tubs are dosed with chemicals and this ensures your tub is as clean as it can be. As you can appreciate people do not always follow the guidelines and go in the hot tub without showering all body lotions, fake tan off etc, drinks get spilt in the tub. Various bodily fluids and dead skin are also in the tub. When maintenance checks a tub first thing in a morning it can be green due to people not following the guidelines. If you were checking in to a lodge with a hot tub would you want to get into a tub knowing that it could of been green before you arrived and was just treated to clear the dirt and scum that builds up. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the tubs on our park and while it may be frustrating if you cannot get in your tub when you arrive although many do have use, we really do have your health and welfare in our best interests. Our tubs are regularly screened for legionaires and pseudomonas. We do our upmost best to get the tubs done so they are at temperature for your first night although we cannot guarantee this and it is also stated on your confirmation from Hoseasons. Whilst I can apologise for your frustration I cannot apologise for the policy and procedure we have in place. We have a duty of care to all our guests. Sheena Operations Manager

User

Wonderful place. Absolutely everything you could need for a peaceful break away. Chocolates in the fridge were a huge winner for our Daughters!

Lovely and quiet but near enough for some lovely days out nearby (Drayton Manor, Tamworth Castle etc). Absolutely nothing needs to be packed but your clothes! They've thought of everything!

We'll 100% be back

User

We had a lovely 4 night stay in the Aspen Lodge. We arrived later than expected due to roadworks, but staff were helpful, phoning us and explaining what to do when we arrived. The lodge was clean, spacious and comfortable, surrounded by peaceful countryside. A bottle of wine and a box of chocolates in the lodge when we arrived was a lovely touch. Toiletries were provided in the bathrooms, should you need them, and dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid were provided in the kitchen. Lots to do in the surrounding area, so it was a perfect base for us. The Sky tv worked fine, the only downside was the non-existent wifi, it made organising day trips and things to do quite difficult. We didn't use the hot tub during our stay, so can't comment on that. We'll definitely book another stay.

User

This is an amazing accommodation with everything you need. Set away from the hustle of the town's and cities, but close enough that you can enjoy a day out. You get a welcome pack telling you what's close with post codes for Sat nav :). The lodge was clean, Well equipped with everything from a microwave to an oven, and all the utensils that you would need. We had full sky which was a nice touch too. Hot tub was clean and was so relaxing. If you're thinking of booking this then id recommend it, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

User

Returned from a 3 night break in Lodge No.8, the couples lodge! The Lodge was perfect, stunning inside and also at the end so private and nice view of the sunset in the evening (Hot tub was at the right temp for when we arrived the Friday eve). The Lodge was immaculate, everything high spec, nice towels, robes upon arrival, everything needed in the kitchen also provided to cook nice meals. Bedroom was very spacious and a lovely comfy bed. Georgous bathroom, the whole of the lodge was just beautiful. We did not want to leave and will be returning in the future. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a very relaxing break away from it all

User

Recently stayed in Aspen Lodge 4. Have not got a bad thing too say about it. Hot tub perfect, site perfect and quiet, kitchen perfect everything included that you’d need, bed was amazing had the best nights sleep ever, bathrooms were Spotless, living room was so so cosy! All in all had an amazing 4 night stay. Will definitely be returning. Never been so comfortable staying somewhere that’s not home. Loved everything about this place and the box of chocolates and bottle of wine was such a small but lovely touch! Thank you

User

Me, my partner and 2 year old daughter came for 4 nights, it was fantastic lovely location, the lodge itself was amazing, hot tub lovely. The staff were very helpful, my daughter loved seeing the gentlemen that came to clean the hot tub she would stand and wave in the window . There's a morrisons supermarket 10 minutes down the road which is useful to know, plus lots of places to eat out We had a takeaway one night to was lovely and quick. Lots of things to do around the area too. We did Drayton Manor and Twycross Zoo. Thank you ashby lodges for a fantastic stay we will be back. P.s incredible value for money

User

Me and my other half have just got back from ashby woulds and absolutely loved it! We stayed in Altham lodge (number 8) and it was perfect! The lodge itself was lovely! Hot tub was great! Only downside was not being able to go in it on the day we arrived as it had to reheat after being cleaned! However was lovely and hot first thing in the morning! It was also very private compared to some other lodges! Couldn't fault it at all and would highly recommend!

User

Me and my friends stayed here for a week, it was lovely and would highly recommend it! The lodge was lovely, modern, clean and has everything you could possibly need inside. The hot tub was so nice, clean and maintained every day. The hot tub also looked out over a little river and we was able to watch the sun set in the hot tub. We have all said that we would come back, thank you for making our week so lovely.

User

Just returned home from a lovely 4 night stay. Stayed in the Aspen lodge, lovely, clean & spacious. The lodge had all the essentials (towels, robes, hairdryers, washing up liquid, tablets for dishwasher, washing machine, toilet roll etc) Due to us travelling from Scotland and heading to Alton Towers on the way down we arrived late however a staff member has messaged us & the lodge was ready & waiting along with chocolates & wine. Was a great base for where we planned on visiting. Our two girls absolutely loved staying in the lodge, hot tub was a huge hit, nice that it is secluded however would of been nice to have a view & not the wall of the lodge. Nice & peaceful area with a kids park only 5 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend.

User

Just got back from our 4 night stay. We can't fault it we stayed in lodge 17 the cedar Lodge it was lovely. Really clean and peaceful just what we needed we will definitely be back.

User

Just come back from here what a beautiful place the log was outstanding will definitely be back thank u so much.

User

Amazing experience! Just back from a weekend with friends. Lovely greeting at reception, with useful information of knowing we could have take aways or food shopping delivered. Lodge spacious, immaculate with all mod cons like washing machine and dishwasher. Loved the dressing gowns and slippers, useful for the hot tub. Lovely touches of washing up liquid and hand wash provided. Hot tub cleaned daily but not obtrusive. We booked our next break while we were still there!

User

Stayed here for a last min break. Mon to Friday. Check in was good, checked in early as lodge was ready, on arriving you have a code to get in and the park has approx 17 lodges so extremely quiet, there is nothing in the park Oh sorry some hammock type things and a sharing bbq . Lodge was nice (not 5 star) it had all you could ask for which was great even had full sky TV.wfi was great and sunken hot tub was fine although not very private!! We had a lovely view and relaxing in the hot tub watching sunset was a winner in my eyes!! Lovely welcome pack which included chocs n wine, well thought out! No coffee but hey who needs that when you get wine. Beds comfy bathrooms great and well equipped. If you have ipod take it as speakers everywhere... Have a little party!! The site is really out of the way and in the middle of knowwhere, we travelled at least an Hour everyday to nearest touristy stuff. The heights of Abraham is a must. Crich Tram museum was another place we visited.. Not very good. Do not visit Calke abbey total con you pay a fortune to park your car Total rip off. Ashby de LA zouch or how ever you pronounce it is worth a visit good shops etc. Moira furnace is kinda ok if you fancy a walk would not pay for canal ride!! Shame we only had 1 nice dry day out of the 5 but hey ho all in all a nice stay. 4 star though definitely not 5 (sorry) you need to drive if you think about staying here!!

User

Lovely place! We really enjoyed our stay and the cabin was beautiful! The only issue was that our hot tub was drained and cleaned out 2 hours before checkout which meant we couldn't have one last dip before we left, we felt that we should have been able to use the hot tub until the time we checked out, however would still recommend here to anyone and we would return!

User

Just had a 3 night stay in cedar lodge 4, lovely and clean, very comfortable and a warm welcome , the hot tub was up to temperature when we arrived, would recommend and would return again

User

lodge itself was lovely and clean. Good variety of kitchen ware and very homely. The wifi didn't connect for any of us. Hot tub was smaller than expected and was very enclosed. Got a bit miserable sat in it surrounded by walls. All the lodges are on top of one another so can understand why the walls were up but could have been opened up at the back for something to look at. The hot tub maintainer came over two hours before check out to drain the hot tub whilst we were relaxing in it - he was polite enough to give us 10 more minutes but I'd expect to have use of the facilities until check out!

User

Cabin was nice and really clean, was told we had to get out of the hot tub 2 hours before we checked out to clean it when we wanted to chill for a bit before leaving, wasn't told about the £150 deposit we had to pay on arrival, Jacuzzis weren't big enough for 4 adults really.. hot tubs were fully enclosed with a fence, would be better if the panel facing the fields were removed so there was something to look at? Wifi was rubbish and didn't work Other than that was a decent weekend away :)

User

The lodge itself was nice however the hot tub was absolutely freezing! We was only given 2 toilet rolls and 1 bin liner between 6 people for 4days. We had booked spa treatments and one of the girls had fell ill being sick so we notified reception as the spa lady was in a treatment already and the lady said not to worry it was fine to cancel her treatment. The other girls still had theirs however we had a rude knock by the spa therapist a few hours later saying “take it your not coming for your treatments then”. we was made to pay for all the treatments that the ill girl did not have and she spoke to us like something off the bottom of her shoe. We wouldn’t of minded if we was told this by the women at reception in the first place! Lack of communication and polite staff.
