Heres how to save money during the winter times and put your feet up whilst you're saving! –
Turn your thermostat down by one degree! Most households have their heating set higher than they need it without even realising. Every degree you turn down could save you around £60 a year on your heating bill.
Make sure you turn your lights, appliances and chargers off when youre not using them. A family could save around £40 a year just by remembering to turn things off, if they d...on’t already do this!
You can save another £35 a year just by being careful on how you use your kitchen appliances. Set your washing machine to wash at 30c and only use the tumble dryer when you cant dry clothes outside.
Don’t fill your kettle right to the max when you don’t need it. Boil the amount of water you need.

Heating your home efficiently is really important during this winter season.
It’s good to get to know how the timer and thermostat on your heating systems work. This means you will be able to set the timer to switch on the heating earlier than when you are at home.
Make sure you have your heating system serviced by a gas safe-registered engineer too!

Would you like to know how to keep warm? Here’s some steps to keeping warm throughout the cold weather this year…
- Several thin layers of clothing will keep you warmer than one thick layer as it traps warm air! - Using a hot water bottle, wheat bag or an electric blanket is a good idea to keep your bed nice and warm. – Never use a hot water bottle and electric blanket together as this could be dangerous. - Check local news and weather forecasts for advice and when the cold ...weather is predicted.

This review is for the bin men of ADC I have a toddler who's not 2 yet who has a strange little obsession with bins and bin lorries every single bin man we've ever come across (which is a lot #binlorrystalkers ) have the time to chat to him wave high 5 it's never too much trouble for any of them to take a few seconds out of their busy mornings to make a little boy's day the bin men who covered eastfield side today were particularly amazing with him credit where it's due

User

Thank you to the Refuse Operative working on Stoneyford Road & Howard Street Sutton on Tuesday who came over to assist my 86 year old mother-in-law after seeing she was upset about a 'contaminated bin' notice on her garden waste bin. Some inconsiderate person had disposed of 10 wine bottles into her bin. He saw how upset she was so he removed them from the bin and then took her bin for emptying despite being on the opposite street.

To the person who dumped them there- shame on you!!!

User

Refuse collectors in Hucknall this morning showed committed team work as our close had a concrete lorry making a delivery Team 3 showed how team work makes a job easy the lorry had to stay at the top whilst the great workmen fetched all the bins to the top of the close for emptying we are quick to moan but these men need a mention and a big Thank you to Team 3

I wonder whose bright idea it was to replace the black bins with the smaller red bins? I despair.

There are only two of us in our household. We compost all our kitchen waste and recycle every single scrap that's it's possible to recycle and WE still struggle with the red bin. Heaven help those with families.

It must have cost an awful lot of money for these new bins and we're trying to keep the council tax bill down?

User

What is the point of the new road markings on the junction of Lindleys Lane? It's not made any difference at all. People ignore it. Complete waste of time and money. You need a better idea cause it can take ages to get out of the street.

What a bunch of idots in the offices. Rang up for 4 weeks about a tap leaking water to be fobbed off every time. Contractor sent out who came to look at job 3 times then finally fixed it to find no pressure. Office staff not bothered. Also had a tv dumped outside my property by someone and I got a letter saying I've fly tipped .In conclusion if you have a problem save yourself time and hassle and do it yourself !!!

User

Well thankyou adc for the 4th time you have not emptied my red bin and are now refusing to rectify this and hung up on me on the phone I will now be cramming dirty nappies. cat litter and general waste into your public bins in the streets until mine is empty you incompetent cock wombles

User

Well angry doesn't cover it! you sent us a flyer last week about the blue glass bin put on a Facebook post that you can share the bins I rang on Monday asking to share a bin with my neighbour. What turns up on Thursday a blue bin for both households. Does this council ever think before they do things? Four sodding bins is a joke I don't want a glass bin it takes me 4 months to fill my box and you expect us to pay to get rid of garden waste,my garden waste consists of the hedge trimmings of a hedge you finally agreed to cut back after 6 months wrangling as to who owned it and was responsible. Also I have to take my bins to the bottom of a communal drive because your employees won't walk that far what exactly do I get for my council tax?? Apart from a frequently contaminated bin or the content of the bin knocked over when you have to have them out for 6am! One very p****d off ashfield resident

User

Way too many bins, no funded social events such as firework displays and no such thing as gritting the roads They use sand FFS... In fact They don't even fix the potholes in the roads!

They don't even deserve 1 star... Pathetic!

User

Reduced bin collections from weekly to fortnightly and reduced bin size and when they miss a collection don’t reschedule it but expect you to leave bags of food and general waste out for another 2 weeks for the next collection. (I appreciate weather is beyond control but surely collecting general waste the following week and missing recycling would be the common sense approach therefore not forcing residents to leave bin bags containing food waste out to attract vermin).

User

Our red bin was stolen 10 days ago and we had to buy a NEW BIN it came today ... well that’s what we expected a new bin but no we got a second hand filthy bin that wasn’t even clean and smells !!! So I phoned to say why have we got a old bin that’s got somebody else name on the top and why is it not cleaned out? Was told a long as it’s functional that’s what we have paid for and you need to clean it yourself!!! not happy with ADC at all ....

User

My friend is classed as a severely disabled vulnerable adult. She's had problems with water leaking from her boiler. Ashfield repairs tried to sort it out. When they left two of her radiators wouldn't hear up. She rang Ashfield repairs centre and they said because one radiator was working it was sufficient for her and refused her any heating. Her bedroom was stone cold that she had to sleep in her puffer jacket! Repairs came out on the Friday and sorted the radiators only to give her an airlock in the system! Council cancelled the repair job saying there was nothing wrong with her boiler! If that's the case why is water still leaking? Why is pressure still dropping? Why refuse her any heating? Why refuse her any running water? This is having a major impact on her mental and physical well being. Sort it out ADC before environmental health will be involved!!

User

Council moved me into a house having 3 children with feaces all up my stairs and all up stairs and then my front wall is found on the floor so my other half moved it as it was a trip hazard and would charge the council if someone fell as it's there wall and now there telling me I've breached my tenancy agreement no I didn't we saved you from getting a huge fine. If someone triped over your wall. They still ain't done the repairs what need to be done what I told them about a week after I moved in. Solicatior dealing with it now. Thanks ashfield district council for being great by the way that was a sarcastic comment.

User

Could you kindly advise me on the best route to exit the Carsic Estate in Sutton as I wish to limit the damage to my car before I put a claim in due to the poorly maintained road network in the area, going round dropping bags of tarmac IS NOT doing a proper repair but nothing more than a bodge. !!!!!!!!!!!

User

Cannot believe that the Green bins are now put back for 2 weeks. How come they can pull collections in during the Christmas period. But cannot for 2 days of snow. Come on ADC get your act together some people cannot get to the tip to dispose of their rubbish. This service is not good enough we pay for these collections.

User

Ashfield District council want the residents to do the work for them. I have been told today that as someone has stolen my bin last week it is my responsibility to go and look for it. As the council will not come and look for it until next week. if I cant find it then I will have to pay £25. this is the policy!!!! can you show me the policy I ask No, were can I see the policy ?? you cant. this is supporting the residents and being transparent. well done Ashfield district council you are really the best

User

Ashfield District Council - are an absolute disgrace to UK Councils. Their primary objective is to incessantly issue fines to the unfortunate people who live in their District. Fines that they can't back up. If challenged, they spend our money taking you to court... they have no rational processes, and they stick their head in the sand when they realise they've made mistakes. Ashfield Council needs investigating. We deserve a Council that wants to help us and give us pride in our community...not waste our money on needless bins and police us. I'd give 0 stars if the option was available.

User

Apparently you guys are shutting down the cash office in hucknall after asking people if they agreed with it on a poll on your website? What good is that and how accurately does that represent the views of the community when many people do not regularly use your website and didn't even know that they were being asked? To get an accurate answer you've got to adequately ask the question, surely?

User

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from these lot....queried a council tax issue about an unoccupied property....got no response...now they've sent a court summons and added an extra 150 to the ammount!
