Ashmoor Hockey Club

Founded in 2003, Ashmoor Hockey Club is based in Ashburton, Devon. On the edge of Dartmoor, just off the A38, between Exeter and Plymouth. The current primary outdoor pitch is at KEVICC in Totnes, whilst indoor hockey remains at Ashmoor Sports Centre in Ashburton. Due to it's central location in Devon, Ashmoor is able to offer hockey for all ages and abilities, both locally and regionally. Our current membersip comprises people living locally in Teignbridge and Newton Abbot, to those on Dartmoor and in Torbay, and also those at either end of the A38 - towards Plymouth and the South Hams, or in Exeter and Somerset, Ashmoor really does cater for a wide area, offering quality hockey coaching, matches and social experiences to all players, members and families. Ashmoor Men's 1st Team has risen tremendously since the club's inception, only 18 years ago, climbing the league structure to now compete in the England Hockey National League (both outdoor and indoor), a feat achieved predominantly with home-grown players. The club now boasts 4 Men's sides and 2 Ladies sides (with most members being home-grown juniors who have made the transition to senior hockey). Ashmoor also has one of the msot successful Junior hockey set ups in the West of England, offering high quality indoor and outdoor coaching to children as young as 3 right up to 18 and regularly competing in Regional and National age group competitions. Ashmoor's main ethos centres around the family and community club aspect, always being open to new members and catering inclusively for all ages and abilities. One of the major strengths of the club has been it's ability to retain it's membership of people from childhood and in to adulthood, which demonstrates the sense of belonging and community that the club embodies and the relationships that it generates.
