Ashoka Sheffield

We've been going to the Ashoka for years, and we love everything about it! The staff are so kind & friendly, the food is lush & the restaurant is so calm. We now love it even more...because we now have a little girl who loves it there too. The staff were awesome to her & she loved her personal Naan experience. Great night out & in the words of my 5 year old 'it were right good there!'

We had such a lovely night in your amazing restaurant! Probably the best Indian food I have ever had!



Your staff are lovely and extremely helpful and went through the menu with me as I have certain allergies to some food.

Thank you for an amazing meal and first time at Ashoka last night. I can't wait to come back! Food was amazing, as were the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Really helpful when I asked which dishes are vegan, and I was very happy to find I actually had a huge choice from the dishes I was shown! So I must come back and try more :)

If u like curry and great service, I highly recommend goin here!! Took my family on Sunday 4th June 2017 and left after having the most amazing experience! My 8 year old daughter love it!

I'm struggling to find the words to compliment Ashoka enough! What an amazing place. The whole experience was totally flawless, the best service, the atmosphere and surroundings and the food was perfect. From the moment we entered to walking out of the door - amazing! This place has the best menu I've seen, some really interesting choices that you won't find anywhere else! If that wasn't good enough.....they even had Bradfield's Farmer's Blonde and Brewdog's Deas Pony! Think I've found my curry paradise. Can't wait to go again.

I really love Indian food and this was one of the best curries I've ever ever had. Excellent friendly service in a nice environment. To be honest I never bother reviewing anything online but have been motivated to do so by the quality of experience I had at Ashoka and will certainly pay a return visit when back in Sheffield.

Fantastic food & with a name like curry we know a good one when we find one!! The place is trendy & the staff friendly. The manager made a great effort to go through the menu with us & kept an eye on our dinks all evening. That good we are going back next week with our friends!!

Dined in here last night with a group of colleagues that had recommendations to visit Ashoka. Menu choices , service And food were fabulous , our waiter was very knowledgable and made recommendations to us according to our tastes , thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend others visiting the city to book a table .

Ashoka really does prove the great things come in small packages. If you dine here it is important to book a table. We were booked in for 7:30 and already it was packed.

Poppadoms and pickle tray is delicious and they refreshed the whole pickle tray even though we only really needed the onions.

If you go here the lamb chops are so succulent and really do melt in the mouth, I’d keep coming just for these. Onion bhaji is golden and really tasty too.

I had caramelised onion chicken Kashmiri, it said mild and for me it was a little too spicy but once mint sauce was added it was ok.

Staff looked after us well and were polite and friendly. We were sat near the door and we got a bit of draft but nothing too severe for a cold January evening. Lots of people came in for takeaways and on the off chance of a table so the little gem is obviously popular.

Don’t mistake the hot towels for mints at the end of your meal.

I have been to Ashoka only once before and was almost put off by one bad review from friends, I’m glad I returned and introduced new friends to this place too, we’ll be back again soon. Thanks for a lovely evening and a good price too x

Absolutely fantastic. We had a lovely meal here for my mums birthday last night. Food was amazing. Service excellent & staff very friendly & helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed it & wish you every success.

Starter's were very nice , mains were a bit of a let down , my wife had a biriani nice rice with chicken , the sauce that came with it , a bit runny slightly oily and on the bland side , my curry forgot the name , was ok but I've tasted better , service excellent , front of house , I believe the owner a really nice guy , attentitive and chatty ,

Went as a treat for New Years Day, had a prawn puri starter which wasn't bad.

Then for my main i had a Keralan chicken curry, it was supposed to be medium spiced but it wasn't and the chicken was very dry like it had been cooked then just warmed up in the sauce, my husband had the taxi drivers curry, was supposed to be hot spiced but it wasn't even medium, i complained but all they said was they could do me another..no thank you, i won't be going back.

Service was rushed, couldn't get us out of there quick enough, even told us they didn't do deserts when asked for the menu? The opening times for this restaurant state open till midnight.... if you want people out well before that you should change the times!!

Chairs were put up on the tables whilst we and others were still eating! Really poor customer service. Food was ok but nothing to rave about, had much better!!

Worst take away ever, paid £26 for 2 meals, really poor value for money, curry was tasteless and full of peppers, tandoored chicken wasn't bad, chips were very poor and uncooked, naan had huge slices of garlic...lazy easy money for them. Won't be ordering from here again
