Ashtead Podiatry specialises in skin and nail care, verruca treatments as well as lower limb biomechanical assessment and orthotic prescription.

Ashtead Podiatry is managed and operated by Emma Ashdown BSc(Hons) MChS, an experienced Podiatrist.

Emma offers a wide range of foot care treatments to meet your individual needs. Whether you suffer from corn and calluses, verrucae, fungal skin or nail infections, dry and cracked heels or simply need nail care, she aims to provide you with immediate pain relief and a maintenance programme to keep you free of discomfort and ensure your feet look and feel great.

Most foot conditions of the skin and nails will be treated within the first treatment session, while musculoskeletal (joint and muscle) problems may require a biomechanical assessment. This aims to identify the underlying mechanical causes of common foot and lower limb problems such as plantar fasciitis and heel pain, neuromas, ball of foot pain, knee and hip pain. A treatment plan may include the use of orthotics (a type of shoe insert), footwear recommendations and a stretching and exercise programme.

Emma also specialises in verruca treatments. Aimed specifically at adults, Emma is able to offer the Verruca Needling Procedure, a popular technique typically requiring only one or two sessions. This procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia.

Emma is also able to administer local anaesthetic for ingrown toenail and other painful skin and nail conditions.

Emma offers a very friendly, approachable and professional service. Since qualifying in 2002 from the London Foot Hospital & School of Podiatric Medicine, she has worked in both high-risk NHS settings and private clinics. Emma is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists.
