About Ashton Court Estate

Ashton Court is a country park in the city, with 850 acres of parkland, two onsite cafes and one of Bristol's leading event venues.

Ashton Court Estate Description

The Ashton Court Estate was once the gracious home of the Smyth family, and is now a historic park near the centre of Bristol. It covers 850 acres of woods and grasslands in total, designed by Humphry Repton.

It has over 1. 6 million visitors annually making the country park the UK's third busiest.

Visit the Ashton Court Estate to discover the magnificent old oak trees and see the deer graze in an estate that first became a deer park over 600 years ago.

On the estate's higher ground, there are two 18-hole pitch-and-putt golf courses, with stunning views across the city. Orienteering and mountain biking are catered for with special trails, and there is plenty of open space for family games and picnics. There is also a miniature railway, which is open on selected weekends throughout the year.

Cafes in the Mansion's former stables and at the golf course provide wholesome and delicious refreshments. Your feedback matters to us! It helps shape our menu and facilities so tell us what you think here: http://goo. gl /KotVK2

One of my favourite places in Bristol, which I regularly visit with my dog. I feel very priviliged to have somewhere so lovely to walk in every season. I am also a regular Lets Rock 1980s festival attendee which is great fun. So many childhood memories of this wonderful place. My pug particularly enjoys the cafes ice cream . Well worth a visit.

User

My wife and I were married there as well as holding a special place in our hearts we love taking the kids there to play and have fun.

User

I regularly run in Ashton Court, linking it with Leigh Woods for a long training run. The views are fabulous, the woodland paths are awesome, the meadows rich in wildlife, and the deer parks are wonderful. My wife and I frequently walk here. We have seen families of long tailed tits, many butterflies and birds of prey stalking the rabbits. Always something to see

User

I love walking round Ashton Court with our dog. It is a dogs paradise and wonderful to be surrounded by so much beauty. Only wish that some people would be more aware of litter especially after an event is held there!

User

I love Ashton court. Normally just use for dog walking but had a wonderful picnic yesterday with a large group of friends. A cafe and toilets with baby changing available, shade from trees, loads of space and enough pram friendly paths. Also an ice cream van which kept the children happy. Lovely afternoon spent for £1.20 parking.

User

I have been visiting Ashton Court over 40 years for various reasons! Starting off with the Tractor Pulling events to now walking my Dog with plenty of other events inbetween. A beautiful place that never seems to change

User

Have visited here for a family picnic for a few years now and it never fails to please! Doggy friendly which is always a bonus and the courtyard and cafe are brilliant! Very pretty rose gardens too!

User

Had a spontaneous trip to this beautiful place, whilst visiting my son , and so glad I did. The views are stunning, even on a cold sunny afternoon.

The dog friendly cafe was delightful, with a welcoming bowl of water outside.

A superb place for all the family.

User

Ashton court great for walkers horse riders cyclists kids and dogs

User

Ashton Court is the most beautiful place and great for walking as it offers woods and open space. Theres also the meadow, the rose garden, the cafes, the ponds, the deer park - it really has so much to offer. I feel lucky to have this on my doorstep. Thank you to everyone who looks after it.

User

Ashton Court is amazing, great walks and great for walking your dogs, great café top and bottom, plenty off doggy poo bins, HOWEVER HARDLY ANY LITTER BINS, that's the only bad thing that let's it down for me.

User

Ashton Court has been part of my life since I was a small child. I have fabulous family memories of rounders matches, picnics, even Birthday parties there. I now walk and run every week around the estate, whatever the weather. For me it's a beautiful haven. My favourite place in Bristol. I love watching it change with the seasons, especially the Autumn colours. Everyone should come and enjoy Ashton Court. I certainly intend to for as long as possible. Love, love, love it.

User

A great place to visit, just a short distance from Bristol centre.

Lots of opportunities for photography, with the added attraction of semi tame Red and Fallow deer herds

Easy walking with mowed footpaths to guide you on various attractive areas

Sadly the kissing gates are difficult to negotiate with a large dog, could be modified with a ' lift up' flap to make this easier.

The car parking charge is a bit dear when just walking dogs or exploring for just a short time (£1-20p) and an old pound coin was required.,and I only had the new ones.

A lovely venue for alsorts of events

User

The views when I first went to this place 6 weeks ago really made me stop and take stock. I now love walking out dog here and finding new routes in the scenic woods whilst deer spotting. It's a lovely free family day out and now my hubby and I have moved to Bristol we hope that Ashton court will become apart of our new life and our future families

We intend to start Park run here as we used to do every Saturday in London and put a date in the calendar for next years balloon festival!

User

Lovely day out, very cheap all day parking. The whole site is really clean, cafe has lovely things, however the service is so slow, maybe this needs to be looked at.

User

Great place to take a dog for a walk. The cafe surprised me, being dog friendly.

Great in the sunshine but awful in the rain

User

Couldn't see much inside the house, but that might have been beacuse I didn't look hard enough, however, the grounds of the estate are wonderful, lots of space for walking, the deer park is also very picturesque- there even a small ride on model railway. Great to see a local council maintain and provide a fantastic space for residents to escape the hustle and bustle of the city!
