Very nice people, who did a very good job of sourcing and fitting a new exhaust on my Ford Fiesta!! Will definitely go back here for any other motoring needs.

****** Amazing !! ******
As I am still driving my first car I have obviously encountered issues with it over the year. I was recommended to go to Ashwells by a mate of mine. Long story short: My drive shaft snapped on my civic after work. It was the middle of the week, so it would have ruined me if I didn't have a car. Rang up Ashwell - as I have had a few minor things done in the past. They sorted out a pickup in the next hour and got me recovered thankfully. They repaired my drive shaft the same day at, to be perfectly honest, a proper good price. All through my personal debacle, they maintained a friendly and very professional manner - with a slight tint of informal banter - which made me feel really comfortable and at ease. Even with the whole situation. A younger lad even gave me some advice on how to maintain and look after my car just by how I drive and what signs to look for if anything is going to go wrong.
All staff where very friendly. No issues with how they approached me or dealt with me, even with it being a busy day for them coincidently. Only
mentioning this as I have seen reviews by customers saying they are rude? Ironically, this coming from obviously rude and arrogant customers who do not understand the complexity of mechanical work.

Overall, cannot recommended them enough ! - nice one lads!!

Been here a few times and the service is always great. Friendly staff who know what they're doing and always carry out the work on time and to a high standard. Will recommend this garage to anyone who wants the job done right.

I am really disappointed as

My appointment was 09:00 am the shop opened around that time and was full on parked cars since last night. Its took them 15 mints to get the cars out of shop and get ready.
I was disappointed as just two new tyres to put on my Car took them more than 1 half hour.
Two workers were doing multiple task at the same time.
The staff attitude was also not welcoming.
I will not recommend it to my friends.

Top garage! Never had any problems here. The staff are always friendly, the work is always of a high standard and the price is very competitive. Highly recommended.

I had an injector fail and got towed to Ashwell motors at nearly midnight. I had the car back on the road good as new by 12 the following day. Thank you! Cannot recommend them enough.

*******BRILLIANT*******
best garage ive been to in years staff are very honest and fast acting. Garage is cleanest ive seen ever. I said to them i was traveling down south and i need the car checking over to make sure i am safe. In no time they got me in and on the ramp car was checked over and levels were topped . Best part i was told no charge cause it was the manager doing it during his break. 100% going again

***DO NOT USE ASHWELL-THEY LEFT MY CAR DANGEROUS AND UNSTEERABLE***
I wish I had never made the mistake of booking my MINI into Ashwell for what I thought was going to be a straightforward MOT. I had never in my life had any problems with my steering before.
The guy seemed honest at first and told me that I needed a gaiter replaced on the driver’s front side. They told me that the gaiter had been difficult to access from the driver’s side so they had taken the drive shaft off and replaced it from the other side.
As I drove the car back down the motorway to London, I noticed there was something very wrong with the steering of the car. It was all over the place, the slightest touch of the wheel would send me nearly flying into the next lane and I was having to brake suddenly and people beeping, having to brake behind me too.
Alarmed by this, I spoke to my regular mechanic who thought it was likely to be my wheel alignment and said to take it back to the garage who would put it right. I drove back to Liverpool thinking the guy would see right and repair it back. Not a chance.
I explained what was happening and he wasn’t bothered. He took it for a test drive and told me nothing was wrong with it, the job as he saw it was “perfect”. My options were: to take it away and drive it, as there was nothing wrong with it (err, no thanks), he could take the drive shaft off and replace everything back to how it had been before the job (what!) or I could book it back in and pay for him to take it apart and look at it again.
I was absolutely taken aback by his complete careless attitude and refusal to recognise that any error had been made. We can all make mistakes, but he showed zero concern whatsoever for endangering my safety and leaving the car’s steering in this state.
I asked if it could be the wheel alignment. He said yes it could well be, but this would cost me, I would have to pay for him to even look at this. What was most worrying to me was that he told me that after the job, as far as he was concerned, the wheels could be in ANY alignment, that was not his problem, or his job to put this back correctly. Now I am not a mechanic, but I find it absolutely unbelievable that you can do any job to a car and leave someone’s alignment all over the road, then leave it at that.
I was absolutely insistent for him to fix my car back to a safe state as I had to drive it back down south on the motorway that day, and was terrified, he then grudgingly said he would “look” at the wheel alignment but warned me if it was that or anything “else” needed done I would have to pay for it.
By the time the car was on the rack, it was obvious from the demeanour of him and the other blokes in the garage that all manner of issues were likely to be found, and in all honesty I did not fancy leaving it at the mercy of what they were going to “find”. I had to take my chances with the risky steering car and take it away which was really upsetting to me.
I have now booked it into the MINI/bmw garage to correct whatever has happened to it, however this is at a great deal of inconvenience, hassle and expense to myself. It has been very distressing driving it while having to grip the steering wheel for dear life.
I just can’t believe this can happen on a straightforward MOT, I would never have taken it in there had I known the problems this would cause.
I thought an MOT was meant to help make a car be roadworthy?
I would never recommend anyone to go to Ashwell Motors. Be safe and avoid them unless you like a lot of excitement and danger while driving on the road.
If anything is wrong with the work they do on your car, they will ignore you and it seems take that opportunity to screw even more money out of you.
This may sound harsh, but it is my honest experience, I am very unhappy with my entire experience with them.
1 star given as won’t post with zero. Avoid.
