Went with my friend we both enjoyed our meal. The service was good. The waitress was polite friendly chatty and helpful as we are both gluten free. Will defiantly recommend ASK italian restaurant to friends.
Shown straight to our booth, offered free fresh lemonade shots, chose their gorgeous elderflower gin and tonic served with fresh rosemary and lime. Starter, mains and desert all lovely, hot and tasty. My friend knocked over her gin and they cleared up straight away and replaced it free of charge. Tirimsu was lovely and ample tasty portions all courses. We'll be back thanks.
Had the best service on Friday night from Lara. She was amazing and really looked after my two boys. The kids meals were great value for money and loved by my two boys. Thanks very much Lara
Friendly efficient service & lovely freshly cooked food at a reasonable price
Extremely helpful and friendly staff; delicious food and very big portions! We dined here initially on a Saturday evening and enjoyed it so much I booked for the next day which was Mother’s Day and my mom’s 60th birthday. Both visits were great - scrumptious food and very fair pricing, especially the three-course Mother’s Day menu, which included a glass of Prosecco, all for £19.85pp - the range of options available for all three courses was excellent; staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and we had a great time 😁
Amazing prices and very generous portions. Absolutely love this place for a meal when in town. Staff is good so does the food tastes great. I would highly recommend.
Amazing choices.
I don't eat animal produce so was really chuffed to see their vegan menu!
Most delicious pizza ! Top marks.
Highly recomend!
Absolutely delicious. Me and my bestie saved it for our final meal and it was perfect. Best dough balls I've ever had, polite and friendly staff, we weren't rushed or hassled and they gave us the time we needed to order and eat. Italian twinkle was the best drink I've ever tasted and it was a pleasure to visit the restaurant. Would return again and again!
me and my grandaughter called yesterday for lunch must say the childs menu is fab i ordered a pasta dish but i couldnt eat it not because it wasnt nice it was to spicy for me i was offered something else but couldnt eat anything else when i got the bill they didnt charge me for mine which i thought was really nice of them and service with a smile we will be back x
Took slightly too long to wait, otherwise lovely pizza
Thanks for this Sunday!
Saturday I liked the moment here to eat something with friends. I decided to come again. Just a pizza and little salad... after 40 Minutes nothing...
thanks to the Chief of rank and Jordy who, to be forgiven, offered me the meal. If I’m come again in Newcastle i promise to come here. 2 meals in 2 days perfect...
I visited Ask Italian on my last day in Newcastle, I love Italian food and thought I would give it a try, the welcome was warm, the sample lemonade was a nice touch, enjoyed it so ordered a glass, had the chicken pasta with mushroom and white wine sauce, the food was lovely, there was a side salad with a huge chunk of cucumber, as I don't like cucumber that was left, food overall very delicious, I was left in peace to enjoy the food and surroundings, when I wanted the bill, it was a bit difficult getting the staff's attention, so had to go to the bar area to ask for and pay my bill. I would go back but not if I am in a hurry and don't have a lot of time on my hands.
had 3 course dinner here last night mushroom starter lovely main meal was asparagus & pancetta pasta at £13or £14 wasn't worth it got bout 1 asparagus tro whole pasta dish dono why priced so dear dessert was absolutely disgusting, never tasted panacotta like it never want to again would not recommend eating here very disappointing
The place wasn’t busy.
Starter took ages to arrive, even though it was garlic bread!
Olives are served with stones in - not a major issue, but would’ve been nice to be de-stoned.
Mains were stood on counter for five minutes before served - mine went back to be reheated, but it came cool on outside/hot in middle.
Food was tasty.
Service was poor.
An hour and twenty minutes for ‘quick lunch’.
Shame.
We tried the restaurant over a year ago and the service made us reluctant to go back, we decided to give it another go last night and it was just as bad if not worse. Shown to our table unenthusiastically, how can you expect your staff to seem interested if the managers aren’t? We ordered drinks after at least a 15minute wait they came one was completely wrong...not what you’d expect for an empty restaurant with an order of two drinks. Our starter came cold, (had obviously been sat around) but no one was around to check with us, mains were lovely, but I will not go back after the awful service that we have experienced more than twice.
Service was disgraceful was told no wait for food when we actually waited 45 minutes no staff member could find our order then pizzas were average the metro centre restaurant is much better for food and service, they didn't charge for our food and we had to cancel 1 pizza as family member had to return to work without having food
Won't be returning any time soon
Service was terrible, and food was discusting I had pasta carbonara which had no taste at all and tasted like watery pasta! Especially for the price of the food u would expect good quality! Definitely will not be returning :(
Rude demening serving staff deserve firing for their behaviour towards myself and my mother today.
slow to do anything take orders were stood doing nothing half the time
pizza was basic about as nice as a co-op basics frozen one and believe me they taste disgusting sorbet was not very nice get better in a tub from tesco or sainsburys food was overpriced pizza edges were rock hard there was no excuse for the staffs behaviour all because of going in to ask if they did gluten free pizza bases and goats cheese topping as I have a severe case of IBS
I will be bad pressing this newcastle Eldon Square restaurant to everyone I know and in multimedia posts you will rue the day you trod on my toes I go into restaurants and rate them on staff behaviour meal quality and price I will not be coming back to any of your chain not even for a free meal and I will be writing a sturn email to your company head office over all of these points
My partner and I had a meal on Monday we both had a prawn starter he then had spaghetti bolognaise I had lobster pasta .during the night I woke up feeling ill vomiting ect today is Wednesday and I have just got out of bed been really ill ,it couldn’t have been the starter as he is ok so I have to blame the lobster so unfortunately I would not eat here again
