Asp: Artist Self-Publishers’ Fair Description
The Artist Self-Publishers’ (ASP) Fair takes place at the ICA on 12 September 2015, bringing together over 50 UK
and international independent artist self-publishers.
This one-day event will promote and celebrate their work.
The publications are the artworks: affordable, available, and unfettered by institution or gallery; ideas, images
and texts produced and published by artists who exploit both the limitations and the freedoms of the printed page.
Today’s contemporary art scene is characterized by relentless commercialism; with the ICA’s generous help,
the ASP Fair aims to circumvent the restrictions this imposes on individual artist self-publishers.
In contrast to the current proliferation of ‘opportunities’, exhibition at the fair is restricted to artist self-publishers only.
We will shortly announce the artist self-publishers taking part in this year’s fair.
In addition to those selected by ASP, five places will be allocated via open submission
The submissions criteria is simple:
1. You must be an artist
2. The work is self-published
3. The publication is for sale
