Researchers at the University of Glasgow are seeking autistic adults to talk about therapeutic relationships, that is, relationships between therapists and clients, and give opinions on a questionnaire called the Working Alliance Inventory
Are you autistic? Are you aged 16 or above? If you have answered yes to both questions, you are eligible to take part in this study.
You do not need to have any experience of therapy. We simply ask that you are open to talking about the qu...estionnaire and sharing your thoughts and opinions.
All you will have to do is answer some questions in an online interview via Zoom.
If you would like to take part in this study, or would like any more information, please contact Katie Rutherford by email k.rutherford.1@research.gla.ac.uk or mobile 07554907631.
Thank you for your time!

Urgent update from the A Shop and Asperger East Anglia:
We have had to sadly take the decision to close the A Shop due to the Coronavirus.
Managers and other key staff will be working in the background so that we can continue to sell on eBay.
... Donations can still be left around the back of the shop, please follow the sign on the back door.
Asperger East Anglia supports people who are disproportionately vulnerable to anxiety, including several of our autistic staff who are extremely anxious about their employment. We are all committed to keeping the charity afloat while we seek funding to maintain our staffŌĆÖs employment and continue to provide support to people with Asperger syndrome. Your support, either by continuing to leave donations or by buying from us on eBay is essential and will go a long way to help reassure our autistic staff who are finding the uncertainty of the future extremely difficult to cope with.
We will be launching an an online appeal shortly and hope that you will consider supporting us further by donating a few pounds which will help save an Autistic persons employment.
I hope you all keep well, these are strange times so please be mindful of your own and others safety.

Message from Asperger East Anglia about the A Shop
Dear Customers/Supporters,
While we are trying our best to keep our services running during the COVID 19 crisis there will without doubt come a time when the shop will have to sadly close its doors; however there will be a small team of people listing items for sale on our eBay pages.
... We still very much need your good quality donations in order that we can try and continue to raise an income and avoid the very serious risk of permanent closure.
Donations can be left at the back door of the shop premise or we are happy to collect them from you if you leave them outside of your property call 01502 715500 and leave a message or email info@asperger.org.uk and someone will contact you to make collection arrangements.
Items we have for sale on eBay can be seen at:

From Marilyn Sher: Seeking research volunteers:
Do you or someone you know have a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism / AspergerŌĆÖs? Please help with some important research!
I am a Psychologist undertaking doctoral research at the University of Birmingham and am specifically looking at the response styles of adults with a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism/AspergerŌĆÖs. I am asking those with this diagnosis to fill out some simple questionnaires on-line. An example question ...is: ŌĆ£talking to people has felt to much for meŌĆØ. You would rate this question on a scale from 0 to 4, with 0 being ŌĆśnot at allŌĆÖ and 4 being ŌĆśmost or all of the timeŌĆÖ.
The current study aims to address some of the gaps in the understanding of response styles amongst an Autistic client group, as well as provide evidence based data for certain assessments commonly used. This is important because some questionnaires used as part of assessments are not designed for people with ASD.
If you are 18 or over and have a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism / AspergerŌĆÖs, please email me to express an interest in participating. The survey will take no more than 30 minutes (current average completion rate is 19 minutes). My email address is: MAS911@student.bham.ac.uk. When you email me you will be given a link and password to undertake the survey on-line. I will then delete your email from my system to ensure confidentiality.
All eligible respondents who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw for a ┬Ż50 Amazon voucher.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you. Feel free to circulate this message to anyone you feel may be eligible.
Kind regards Marilyn Sher University of Birmingham, United Kingdom

Sarah K Crockford, PhD student at University of Cambridge, is recruiting for a research project concerning bilingual language usage in autistic adults. Please contact her if interested. skc48@cam.ac.uk 07857-117824 Please note that they need bilingual non-autistic adults too, in order to compare both communication styles. _________________________________________ ______ From the University of Cambridge, Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics:
WE WELCOME YOU TO TAKE ...PART IN A STUDY ON AUTISM AND BILINGUAL LANGUAGE USE
Our team at the University of Cambridge is investigating how bilingual Autistic and non-Autistic adults use their languages. We would love to hear from you!
WHO ARE WE INVITING TO TAKE PART? We are inviting adults aged 18 and above with and without a clinical diagnosis of autism who speak at least two languages. One of these languages should be English.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS STUDY? The aim of this study is to find out more about what itŌĆÖs like for Autistic adults to speak more than one language.
WHO IS ORGANISING AND FUNDING THE RESEARCH? This research is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and conducted by researchers at the University of Cambridge.
WHAT DOES PARTICIPATING IN THIS STUDY ENTAIL? There are two stages to this research and itŌĆÖs up to you which stage you would like to be a part of (you can also participate in both).
STAGE 1: ONLINE SURVEY You will be asked to complete a 30-minute-long survey. The survey will ask you about your language ability and usage and about your autistic traits.
STAGE 2: IN-PERSON STUDY This involves a 60 to 90-minute testing session, during which you will be asked to complete some tasks with the lead researcher (Sarah Crockford). These tasks will measure some of your cognitive skills and your ability to rapidly switch between your two languages.
WHERE WILL IT TAKE PART? If you want to take part in the online survey, we will just send you a clickable URL link from which you can complete the survey.
The in-person study instead may take place either at your home or at the University of Cambridge (in this case travel expenses will be reimbursed), depending on your preferences as well as research requirements.
RESEARCHERS All our researchers have a DBS certificate and they know what action to take in case of any issues or concerns arise.
For more information please contact Sarah Crockford on skc48@cam.ac.uk (tel: 07857 117824)
