Wow is all I can say about the aston tavern ! Went for prosecco afternoon tea with my mother ...knocks spots of any afternoon tea I've ever had and I've had a few at top hotels in the past amazing sandwiches & cakes superb staff and the most heart warming decor that took me in to the past I will definitely be returning and this time maybe try some lunch. A place that I certainly will remember.. A place too go too relax not your usual pub which is what makes the place special thank you too all the wonderful staff who were so lovely while my 1year old decided too have a melt down ! Thumbs up from me!

What a lovely experience. We arrived for afternoon tea and they were waiting at the door for us. The service was amazing and the food was lovely. We decided to upgrade to the prosecco offer which was a lovely treat. Would thoroughly recommend going and we will go back.



The tavern itself has been renovated to the highest standards and they have kept as many original features as possible. The staff are very friendly and will do anything to help. Thank you everyone for making our afternoon so special.

What a little gem... Decor is stunning. Was given a tour of the hotel rooms, and all done to an amazing standard. Staff were all lovely, and attentive. We sat in the courtyard, and you would never know you were next to the motorway. The afternoon tea was lovely... I have nothing but good things to say about this place, and will be recommending to all my friends. I will be returning!!! Thank you �

Went there yesterday for match day , got there a bit early and Paul the owner gave us a tour of the pub and sat and had a chat with us Made us feel welcome. It is a stunning place . Went back there after the game aswell will definitely be coming back .

Went there yesterday for afternoon tea. It place is absolutely stunning! It’s been renovated to a top class standard & has so many beautiful original features. The afternoon tea was delicious & so much of it! Everyone was so friendly & accommodating. I really couldn’t fault our experience in any way. I’m already planning on coming back & bringing more friends. Loved it!

Went there for afternoon tea and it was lovely, sitting by the roaring fire just made it so cosy. Im also hoping to have my wedding there and the interior is just stunning!x

Went here today and I must say it's. lovely place, it was nice to be in such an authentic place. The service was great, Sian you went the extra mile to make us feel welcome, thank you x the tea was served in China cups, saucers and there was so much to see. Definitely recommend this place for afternoon � cakes � and other meals, well worth the visit xxxx �

We held a ‘Prosecco Afternoon Tea’ baby shower here yesterday, 25 people and each and every one absolutely loved it! The decor and table set up was amazing, the food was lovely (and plentiful), and the staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. There are a good range of drinks on offer, particularly Gin and Cider.

I will be looking to book an upcoming birthday party there, and friends of ours are looking into having their wedding there. I really can’t recommend this venue enough.

We had our wedding here on Saturday and it was amazing! Sophie and Michelle made sure our day was just perfect. Would recommend this venue to everyone it's just stunning! Thank you to all the staff at the venue!

Visited today as a treat for my friends retirement and thoroughly impressed with the service and food. Nothing was too much trouble and the scones were the best I have ever tasted! Beautifully renovated, lovely attention to detail and we were given a little tour around when we asked about what else they offer. Millie our waitress was attentive and very polite, checking on us regularly. Highly recommend!

Patrick & Katie had their engagement on 7/7/2018, can’t thank the staff enough, fantastic venue, fantastic hospitality, fantastic food we all had a wonderful time and big shout out to Alice for all her help

It’s Birminghams I’m kept secret, I honestly think it’s great � family run they have done so much but still remained normal and down to earth, I would say it would be the perfect venue for a party or wedding

I brought my mom here today for afternoon tea, as an early Mother's Day present. We had such a lovely time from as soon as we stepped foot through the door. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating and the cakes and sandwiches were amazing, plenty for one person and even some to take home. We couldn't fault this place and it's warm welcoming interior and exterior. Will definitely be back soon, highly recommend!

Beautiful, quaint premises which has under gone a massive major refurbishment. Aesthetically pleasing on the eye with original fittings lovingly restored inside and out. The owners, Michelle and her husband were so warm and welcoming even to the point of giving me a tour of the upstairs rooms which are soon to be available. Spic and span. Not a spot of dust anywhere. This is really were the fairytale begins. Picture-book perfect! Think of falling through the 'looking glass' like Alice or stepping into a Dickins novel into the 'Grand House'. A hidden delight! Well done guys, I'll be back and looking forward to it.

Visiting Aston as a halfway meeting place we looked up Aston Tavern for a great afternoon tea. Got there and it was an Aston Villa match day and the place was rammed with fans. Told by doorman tea not served on match days - we were disappointed. Doorman kindly checked with the owner Paul who apologised and gave us bowls of chilli and tea and chatted with us about all sorts of things. We returned the next day to find all calm and flowers everywhere. We had a lovely Prosecco Afternoon tea and were served by the lovely Magda and Kerry Ann who had been told we might come back. What lovely and helpful ladies!! We had a lovely chat with Magda who told us we were a pleasure to serve. Thank you x

On villa match days we go here as, although £3.00 to get in, you get a pork baguette. However, yesterday was terrible. About 4 very thin small slices of pork on a footlong baguette. Really very disappointing. I will not be using it again. I dont drink, I accompany my friends and feel at least I get something in return. With expensive bar prices, my daughter paid £16 for 4 bottles of bud and a 250 ml of coke.

Felt very disappointed the other day. Have visited the Aston Tavern many times since it has reopened and brought many of my friends with me, but not so sure I will anymore. I wasn't too happy about being charged over £3 for what turned out to be a sachet of Nescafé Cappuccino. In the end we didn't pay for it as they were unable to give us an unsweetened one. I had a chicken and pesto panini which I have had there before, but this one was more of a pesto panini with tiny bits of chicken scattered few and far between on it. The staff are still friendly and helpful but I don't know what has happened to the food - and it is not cheap! I love the relaxing atmosphere that is created in the pub. Please bring the food back up to your original standards.

Speaking as a business woman. The Aston Tavern is a spectacular place and the owners are wonderful, we went to do the winter wonderland it had all the ingredience of a great day, a choir, Santa, lovely craft stalls great company but NO visitors, no one sold anything and everyone packed up early and went home,,no idea what went wrong because it was all set to be a great weekend, so in summary it was a FANTASTIC venue and staff but very bad footage through the place..

My company had our Christmas party here on Friday night (8th December). I'm afraid it was a let down. The service was very slow and haphazard, it was clear the staff were overwhelmed by the numbers. Some of my colleagues were still waiting on their main course when our table were waiting for dessert.



The soup was delicious (home made?), however the Christmas dinner (main course) was tired and cold.



By 10pm last year our food was had, the speeches done and we were on the dance floor, but by 10pm here the dessert had just been served. However as this was once of your first ever Christmas parties I'm sure you'll improve.



On the upside the place has been beautifully restored, really stunning. I'm sure a normal visit with a friend or two would be better.
