A once thriving country sitting on the world’s largest oil reserves, Venezuela has suffered a precipitous decline over the past two decades. There are drastic shortages of both food and medicines and diseases such as diphtheria and malaria are re-emerging. State hospitals, in particular, are suffering because of lack of maintenance and scarcity of medical supplies. Healing Venezuela works to provide support to hospitals and health professionals in the region and Astute Limited are honoured to donate £299.36 to this worthy cause as nominated by our colleague Natalia Rodrigues

Dorset Mind work tirelessly to support those with mental health difficulties across Dorset and the surrounding area. Back in February, Bournemouth University Boat Club rowed 24 hours a day for a whole week to support this fantastic cause. One of our colleagues, Ayrton Van Raat, took part in the row and to show our support, Astute Limited are proud to contribute a further £218.10 to the collection.

BCHA are a not-for-profit registered Housing Association that have been helping homeless and vulnerable people for the past 50 years. Astute Limited are pleased to donate £266.44 to help support BCHA’s efforts following a nomination from our staff member Laura Sharley

In the UK today, over 850,000 people are living with Dementia and this number is set to rise to 1 million by 2020. Dementia UK are a fantastic charity providing specialist nurses and support to families affected by this disease. Astute Limited are proud to donate £267.42 to support this cause which was nominated by our colleague Neil Hopkins.

Astute’s Pool Tournament has now become a hotly contested annual event. This year was no different with 20 Astutians competing for the trophy. As with any competition, there can only be one winner and this year the title was won by TomTom Odley. A great evening was had by all raising funds for Stroke Association. As always, thank you to the team at Sharkeys Sports Bar Bournemouth for hosting the event.

Losing a baby is a terrible situation for any parent or prospective parent to find themselves in. SPRING Support is an amazing charity who Support Parents and Relatives Through Baby Loss. Whatever the circumstances or however long ago, they are there to provide emotional and practical support. Astute are delighted to donate £419.50 to support such a worthwhile cause.

Rewarding success and hard work is key in any Sales and Marketing role. As a thank you for all their efforts throughout January, our Cloud Collaboration Team were rewarded with a night out in Bournemouth town. A huge thank you to the team at Aruba for hosting us for the night. Its was a great evening – looking forward to next time!

On New Year’s Day this year, 24-year-old Arsenal fan Liam Seager was tragically killed in a road traffic accident. As a tribute, Astute are proud to give £269.76 to @Willow Foundation a charity setup in 1999 by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson. Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. Thank you to our Sales Director Darryl Squires for nominating such a worthwhile cause to donate to.

Our staff worked exceptionally hard in 2018 and so our Christmas Party was an ideal opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and celebrate. Thank you to everyone who attended the party and the team at @chapelgatebsc for their hospitality hosting us.

Such a good company, I had never worked on phone marketing before but after 2 weeks they offered me the BDS position and an opportunity to learn, improve and the most important aspect, be myself at work. We are planning now different training programs to achieve better results in accordance to the weekly results and my impressions. Really good environment so far, good teams, good quality of life-work standars... More than Astute Limited it should be name Astute unbounded.

In the past 3 Months, I did a work placement at Astute as Business Development Specialist. During my work placement, I was treated as a regular employee which allowed me to get the ideal view of all tasks and responsibilities. My colleagues were always more than friendly and have always offered their help, which made it very easy for me to feel comfortable. The characteristic of Astute which I like best was that for them the working atmosphere was really important, which leads to a stress-free working climate in which each employee can work together no matter what age or nationality they are. All in all, would I like to say that Astute offers the ideal opportunity to everyone who seeks for a work placement or a job in a professional working environment.

I've been working here at Astute for almost 3 years now, I've been a part of a number of different teams and worked on a wide variety of campaigns covering multiple technologies. I started here as an agent and have since continued to grow within the business and have recently taken the next step to my career by progressing on to becoming a Campaign Manager. I have had such an amazing experience working here and look forward to what's still yet to come!

I moved up from a completely different town to start a new life in Bournemouth nearly 7 years ago! I started at Astute pretty much straight away and was understandably very nervous! From the HR induction to being introduced to my first Manager, to booking my first meeting, to hitting my first target and every step of the 7 years, the support and encouragement has been amazing!! Through the years I have worked up to a Manager myself but could not have done that without the things I learnt along the way from different people and knowing I always had support there. Paul, Shaun and Darryl's work ethic and attitude clearly comes straight from the top and throughout the business, they are always there to support, listen and encourage and have a wonderful team around them (have to do a special mention to Mr Gary Scott). Not only have Astute helped me grow and learn professionally they have also had a massive impact personally, from meeting my partner of nearly 7 years at one of the amazing Christmas party they put on, to understanding and supporting me through recent times. They really are one big family showing loyalty and respect to all! I'm glad to be part of that family and I'm looking forward to getting back to my role after my maternity leave! THANK YOU Astute �

I moved down from London 18 months ago and started at Astute straight away. I was welcomed with open arms and it made settling in very easy. Doors are always open, whether it’s just for a quick chat to a director about the weekend or if it’s a meeting about your personal progression plan. There is certainly opportunity to develop and move up the ladder which I think is really important for a business. Overall I believe Astute is a great company to work for and I would certainly recommend it.

I have worked for Astute (specifically the Data division AMS) for 6 years, and it has been great. Where there have been minor obstacles due to the fact I use a wheelchair, the Management have tried to find (practical) solutions. Thanks Paul, Shaun, and Simon (AMS Director)

I have worked at Astute for 3 years and what a 3 years it has been. I have learn't so much over the last 3 years and it's been a pleasure being part of the team. I'm now moving back to where I was born (Denmark) and would thoroughly recommend working for such a well established organisation. Having worked for Astute since June, I've been massively impressed by the company and will be very sad to leave when I move to New Zealand in the New Year. I joined with some sales experience but absolutely no clue about anything IT related yet the training has been fantastic and I've learnt so much in my time on a couple of different campaigns.
