🦶🦶Feet that are in pain are quite a problem. 🤔Getting diagnosed as to what is going on can be an even bigger problem. Common diagnoses include Plantar Fasciitis, tendinitis, 'fallen arches/fat feet', OA toes and associated deformities. We can offer you a free assessment to give you a diagnosis to work with. Then you will know what to do about your problem foot/feet/toes. Today in clinic we diagnosed osteoarthritis of the MCP joint of the big toe👩‍🔬. This is a big problem as ...you get pain everytime you 'push off' with that foot to propel yourself forward. "What did a Physio do about that", I hear you say! Well we taped the foot and big toe to enable pain free walking. This will take some of the pressure off the joint but also allow the joint to 'settle', by giving it 'relative rest'. 👟🥾👡Your choice of shoe can also make a massive difference to your pain. Today we recommended this client to look at the Fitflop brand. Their original 'micro wobble board' sole technology could be a good starting place in helping 'take the pressure off' the big toe. 💥Not all of their footwear have the same type of sole so make sure you check out their 'Find your Fit' link at the bottom of their 1st page and be sure to measure your feet (as it is common for you to change shoe size with age ect..)

💕With Valentines Day coming up at the end if the week, why not do something just for you?Loving ourselves and taking care of our own needs, is not something most of us find easy to do (or at least prioritise it!)We often put the needs of others first, ageing parents and the needs of our children. If you have been having some aches and pains and ‘getting around to’ getting them sorted -this could be a good week.🤔🤔 Our bodies need to last us a lifetime-we should take the best care of them....don’t you think? Book in for a massage or a Physiotherapy appointment and do it because you love yourself.💕

Simple exercises to do to prevent getting out of the car feeling stiff. To be done only when you are in traffic jam with your hand break on. 1. Back rolls. Starting at the base of your spine, push one vertebrae at a time into your car seat and then do the reverse.Repeat x5 2. Bum squeezes. Squeeze your buttocks together and relax.Do this quite quickly and for about 20-30 seconds. 3. Neck rotations.Turn your head from side to side as far as you can.Repeat 5 times in each direc...tion. 4. Neck tilts.Tilt your head towards your right and then your left.Repeat 5 times to each side. 5. Leg extensions.Stretch one leg out and the the other.Repeat x5 6. Deep breaths.Take a deep breath in, try to get the air going to the very bottom of your lungs by placing one hand on your tummy.Your tummy should rise as you inhale and fall and you exhale.Note that exhaling should not be forced, it will just happen at the end of the inhale.Repeat x4. And on long journeys it is advisable to stop for a little while and get out of your car and have a walk around. Also, drinking water in your car is a good idea too.
