We were booked to have a look over this poorly #vauxhall #Mokka #1.6cdti today..
The car was in limp mode with an overboost fault code stored in the ecu and the dash lit up like a christmas tree.
The garage suspected sticky #turbo veins but after running in depth diagnostic tests we found that the veins were actually functioning fine but the Boost pressure sensor and Turbo wastegate solenoid valve were faulty.
... Report given to the garage and customer and this car is one step closer to being back on the road.

Think we'll have had enough of high speed wind related posts by the end of today so here a couple of non turbo (get it 😂🙄🌪) petrol vehicles we remapped last week.
A lot of remapping companies will tell you it's not worth tuning a naturally aspirated engine but we know the mapping we supply is so good even these engines benefit. With power gains of around 8% the difference in peak power wont be huge but it's the improvements in drivability that's really noticable, improved throttle response, smoother power delivery and no more flat spots mean that your non turbo car will be the best it can be, making your driving experience all the better.

Steve from #Wellington got in touch as he'd bought this lovely #vw #T5 #Transporter which he was over the moon with, except he found that it had been previously fitted with a speed limiter.
We reassured him that we could solve the issue and remove the limiter and at the same time apply a stage 1 remap to drastically improve the power and economy too.
I dont think he was expecting nearly double the power 🤣, almost had a heart attack on the test drive after I'd finished 😂.

We headed down to Exeter this afternoon to help solve an #EGR issue on this 2009 #audi #A3 #16.tdi
Owner Lisa had been recommended to us after a visit to our good friends at Grant's of #Wellington.
EGR issues on this model are common, especially after the emissions scandal "fix" which makes the valve work much harder than before.
... We fitted an blanking plate into the EGR system to cut all airflow and the #ECU was remapped to permanently delete all associated fault codes, Lisa also opted for an economy tune too, which perked up the power and will save her around 10% on her fuel bill.
no more engine management lights, lots more power and improved mpg, what's not to like! 😉

Had to dig out a bit of rarely used tuning equipment for #remapping this 2006 #subaru #impreza #wrx over at Cotton Motors in Taunton today as the vast majority of mainstream tool dont cover these #Hitachi ECU's.
The secondary air pump on the car had failed so instead of a costly replacement it was decided to bring us in to disable it electronically via the mapping, to give the customer best value for money we also tuned it to stage 1 at the same time.
I felt like Colin #McRae when I test drove it after - great fun 😂👌

As you can hear, the cold start system on this car keeps the revs up and the noise high and this continues for a good couple of minutes, which is not going to make you any friends. Fortunately we are able to disable this system in the ecu software bringing peace to the area once more 👌😂🥳

We were booked to remap and engine carbon clean Robin's 05 plate Volvo V50 2.0d recently as he was finding the car pretty gutless. He really wasnt joking, we found on the initial test run it was flat as a pancake, making only a third of the boost pressure that it should have been.
After a few miles of tests we got it back and popped the bonnet, it didn't take long to locate the issue, the vacuum pipe for the turbo actuator wasnt actually connected 🤣.
After reconnecting it a...nd another test drive it was like a different car and with everything now working as it should we could proceed with the tuning.
Remapping done right.

Ben's 2014 1.6tdi #VW #Golf can be mapped from 105hp up to a far more respectable 145hp, this and all the additional torque really transformed the driving experience for the better. 😎

David's factory de-tuned bmw 114i was in for a bit of a shock when we tuned it earlier to take power safely from 102 to 210bhp 🤯😎😂
