What makes #plastic so useful for humans, it’s lightweight and durability, is precisely what makes it a life threat to animals, as plastic hangs around a long time, floating and doesn’t disintegrate. . Single-use plastic is the worst. One single use plastic bag or plastic “disposable”, can kill an animal, a fish, a bird, mor...e than once. . As professions, the #medical and #dental communities, by necessity, use and encourage the use of single-use plastics on a daily basis. This is because this plastic is inexpensive, safe and hygienic. The vast majority of dental waste goes to landfill. . We need to become more responsible #humans. We need to #reduce use of plastic packaging, #reuse where we can and #recycle . We need to innovate to find ways to recycle and reuse more in dentistry - and I mean, with sterilisation and use of autoclavable alternatives. We need to look at ways to make our surgeries more #sustainable to reduce the impact on the planets natural balance.. remember every little helps.
