Australian High Commission

I can't comment on their personnel as I wasn't actually able to talk to anyone.
Their systems are rubbish though.
The information I am looking for is not on their site, the webform doesn't work and the site instructs me to call "the local office", in this case the UK one.
Ringing gives a message that they are "open for calls" for 3hrs each day.
Well, as it turns out for those 3 hrs there is a constant busy signal on the phone, and as soon as the 3hrs are over you get the "we are closed" message.
It's almost as if they turn up to work, take the phone off the hook, and put it back on when its time to go home!

Look, we get that you don't like dealing with the public, and that generally speaking you are a xenophobic, racist lot (just watch the border control show on TV! lol), but could you answer the phone?

Very unhelpful customer service staff on the phones in London, absolutely a rude women who cut the line off on me just a few minutes ago. Inspite of me trying to explain that I am returning a call from someone who called me from London. Absoultly shocking. By the way I am an australian citizen myself.

staff extremely rude and impatient.recently renewed my Swiss passport.Swiss embassy staff were polite and efficient.Australian embassy staff can learn from them.Shame on your staff Mr.Downer.

Service standards say they'll answer calls in 10minutes. I have been on hold for 40minutes. Online contact form doesn't work. They couldn't care less about their service. I have every expectation that'll I'll be faced with an abrupt, over worked member of staff if I ever get through.

Extremely helpful in rectifying US Embassy harassment. Managed to arrange a new passport for me in less than 24 hours (though not cheap), and staff were so friendly and helpful. I had to go in and out about 6 times in 24 hours and they staff offered to help in every way they could and were completely sympathetic. 1 Australian High Commission staff is worth 100 US Embassy staff.

Applied for a visa to attend a conference in Sydney. Applied for it 45 days back and they have not got back to me yet. Have been trying to reach and no response. One of the worst services.

Couldn't give a damn about my complaint about abuses of my human rights by the Australian government and that I was seeking refuge in the UK as an Australian citizen from persecution by NSW Police.

I wanted to speak to the High Commissioner and they told me to fill in a web form. I bet if I wanted to donate £100K to the Liberal Party they might have shown me a bit more courtesy.

This is disgusting this is not how Australians operate in Australia.
Its been 2 months and i havent got a single email or phone call about my daughters application.and now im trying to get in touch with them every number i try.i just cant get through.

Attended the Australian High Commission to complete my 6 year old daughter's passport application. Arrived half an hour early before my appointment but was seen within 10 minutes after arriving. Application was completed very efficiently. In 2 or 3 weeks the passport should arrive. Hopefully.

Absolutely shockingly bad telephone service. Disgrace performance from a Government body you would expect much higher standards from.

as many others here, I would give 0 stars if I could. Very disappointing service, very narrow minded staff. First time they refused a Visitor Visa for my 5 y.o. nephew from Ukraine because the paper from his preschool was missing and we reapplied with adding that paper and explanatory letter about school enrolments in Ukraine. After 8 weeks waiting we got the refusal without any explanation given except that 5 y.o. would stay illegally in Australia after. My family members from Ukraine have traveled a lot to Australia and never disobeyed the laws. I can't see why my nephew would and stay in Australia leaving both loving parents behind. Absolutely no logic and discrimination by nationality.

I found the staff helpful and polite. The building itself is amazing and always worth a look when you're allowed inside.
