About Aviation Industry Skills Board (Uk)

The Aviation Industry Skills Board (AISB) has a long history, formed in 2008 it consists of leading aviation employers and their stakeholder sector partners, all who are passionate and committed to continually raising professionalism and improving business performance through the development of skills in the workforce. Since its formation the board work collaboratively, strategically responding proactively to the everchanging skills environment. As an independent board in order to deliver all its strategic objectives the AISB establishes and dissolves special interest groups (SIGs). The Chairs of the SIG groups are responsible for reporting back to the AISB against agreed outcomes at, and between, scheduled meetings. The terms of reference of sub-groups are agreed by the AISB to ensure clear objectives, and efficient and effective outcomes in accordance with the AISB strategic plan. In 2022 the board is in an even stronger position than ever to continue its collaborative partnership of work for the ongoing benefit of the aviation industry. The strength of the board clearly shown with its citation in the Department for Transports new 10-point /10-year aviation strategy ‘Flightpath to the Future' where they will be formally contributing to the work of the Aviation Council led by UK governments Aviation Minister.
