The ATPL classroom waiting for our new intake on Monday. We are full for this course, the next course starts on November 12th 2018, please be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. Our class sizes are relatively small to ensure that our students have the best opportunity to be recognised and supported as individuals.

Join us in Rome on November 17th for the Flyer Magazine Pilots Career show.

Hour building is a necessary part of your training when you are aiming to become a Commercial Pilot. It prepares you to be able to deal with different weather aspects as well as navigation, different airspace and using the correct procedures. Somehow, our students seem to make it fun too!

i bought my husband a flight experience for his 40th birthday and he absolutely loved it. Professional and friendly. Would recommend.

Why go anywhere else? International Airport plenty of free air space great scenery (sorry ifr students) brilliant instructors

User

This is without a doubt the best flight school I have ever came across. I am writing this review just after having found out I have finally passed all my ATPL exams! I previously studied with a well known integrated school that also catered for modular students and was let down by them. Since I started with ASW my exam results have been much higher and instead of just scraping a pass I have achieved good results. They limit class sizes to ensure that the students can actually understand and ask questions about what is being taught. The business is family run, they are very professional and friendly - which is just what you need. I seriously don’t think I could have got where I am now without their help. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough! One thing is for sure, I will definitely be coming back here once I have done my hour building to start the CPL.

My son has his first trial lesson today, thought it was a great gift for him to get a taste of what it would be like to fly for a career. He loved it and definitely got the bug for flying now will definitely be booking further lessons for him with aviation south west. Thankyou so much for making his experience a great one

User

My experience of Aviation South West was just as I’d hoped. The training staff were very open, professional and flexible from the initial enquiry through to completion. My instructor demanded very high standards, but they always gave the proper training and techniques to ensure that the simulator or flying sortie was completed with maximum learning and the best outcome. It was nice being assigned to one instructor as I felt this helped my progression and each flight I knew the standard required. The aircraft were also well-equipped and maintained.

User

Just had the best experience ever! I'll definitely be using the company again. My instructor was great and very patient with me and my terrible geography. Even with 30mins you still see so much but I'll be back for an hour next time, I think I'm hooked!

User

It's so rare to find a school that is only interested in getting you trained as quickly as possible. (Schools make money by giving lessons, so going over the minimum hours is bad for you but good for them.) I passed every course in minimum hours - almost everybody here does - and the reason is experienced career instructors. There is a reason every single person (who has trained here) gives ASW 5 stars...

User

I done the 30 minutes trial lesson. It was brilliant would do it again. the instructor was really good too

User

I definitely recommend Aviation South West. I did my CPL, MEP and multi engine IR with ASW and finished in just over 3 months. From the very first days I was delivered an excellent service by all the operations/training

staff; instructors are great and they will train you to the highest standards.

User

Husband really enjoyed the experience.Great birthday treat with Kevin

Had a half hour flight with Action Man Dan!

Made me feel extremely relaxed, considering how nervous I was getting, on top of all the excitement! lol. The lads based in the office are wonderful too. Friendly, helpful, with a sense of humour. Brilliant time was had. Watch out lads....I'm coming back one day! ;)

Thank you xxx

Had a great taster session from Exeter airport with a very friendly instructor. very interested in training for my PPL with them! Recommend highly

User

From booking to flying, our experience was amazing! I purchased the hour flight for my sons 18th Birthday via Into the Blue in June 2015, we forgot to use it in time and were allowed to book after the expiry date! This great first impression was surpassed by the day of the flight itself. Very friendly staff, knowledgable, and interested in their clients. A really big thanks to Matthew for being so helpful and entertaining (good luck for your pilots exams), and to Michael the instructor who took my son up. He had a fab time, and said the experience was unforgettable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

For pilots searching for a school to do their Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL), Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) rating, and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR).

I did my whole Commercial Pilot Licence Training through Aviation South West in Exeter and it was a great overall experience. Let me address some of the basic questions here.

Time Frame: You will have those odd days of not being able to fly due to the weather. Even so, it took me 12 weeks (3 months) to finish everything. BUT, it would have been possible to do it in 8-10 weeks as I left mid-training to visit family for 2 weeks.

Cost: Very competitive prices for the UK, really. Loved how straight-forward they tell you what the costs are as well. You will be told what is included and what is not included (although I can't remember anything that wasn't included in the pricing).

More importantly, it's what you get out of flying in Exeter. You have the whole of the southwest terrain for the CPL visual flying, then conveniently an airway right after take-off once you start doing your Instrument Rating. You waste no time at all in-flight. Also, the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) handles all of the CPL students.

Instruction/Instructors: They know how to build on your strengths, and get rid of your weaknesses.

*Special Cases: They're flexible. If you want to do it full-time, they will get it done. If you have another job and want to pursue your Commercial Pilots Licence around your work schedule, they will find a way to make it happen.

I met others during the course of my stay there, and we were all 'different cases' coming from all over the place. (e.g. Plymouth, Bristol, Yeovil, Hastings, etc.)

Accommodation: They can assist you, should you ask for help, but you have Exeter city just a stone throw away. (I stayed in Exeter myself and just had a monthly bus pass to commute to and fro the airport).

*Job-after-training: They prepare you mentally and emotionally for what you can expect once you go job-hunting after training, which I think is the best thing you can teach a student. You might also receive the occasional offer that would come from private charter companies that contact the school directly. In short, they also want you to get employed.

I hope this would give an insight to what you would expect with Aviation South West. If I have missed out on anything from the perspective of a student, please feel free to message me. I will be glad to answer.

User

Big shout out to the boys and girls at Aviation South West for all their help this weekend in expediting my arrival and departure.

Also, big thanks to Exeter ATC for bringing my flight plan forward and getting me away early today - very much appreciated one and all.

User

I would not go with this company after the phone call I just had regarding a question with the Class 1 medical! Very rude and arrogant when you think your spending £50,000 odd pounds with them!! Stay away is my advice!!
