What a pathetic excuse for customer service. AVOID at all costs. No rep during regular business hours. When I finally got through after being on hold on the phone to someone who rather idiotically told me he is in Barcelona and I should just ask around to see if anyone has seen avian employees. What a joke. I would be pleased to see them go under

Staff need customer training - twice they tried to charge me more than my online contract; they said it was a mistake by their systems - twice I needed to discuss with them and have them fix it - twice they were unapologetic, and once actually rude.

As good a location as possible for a London hire car operation. Out of the transport surcharge area, petrol station at the end of the street, reasonably quiet street ( you can sit for a while to familiarise yourself without hindering others), reasonably central location but not to far from main roads out of London, Car park overhead for returns. We have hired cars twice and they have never sought unexpected extras and both times the cars have been near new in excellent condition.

Nice new clean car but there were problems with the booking system so there was a bit of a wait.

American rental car company but without American customer service. Staff need a course in "The Customer is Always Right". Argumentative unhelpful staff -- if you discover something is wrong with the car which they should have given you in good working order, they expect you to spend the time during your rental period to fix it. It is your problem. In my case I chose not to drive the car rather than deal with this nuisance. Did they offer a partial refund or some credit or something to make up for it? Nope. Avoid this branch if you can others are much better.

Convenient central London rental location, nicely set up for a weekend rental with late Friday evening and early Saturday morning opening, and 24h return.

No dedicated Avis Preferred queue, forcing Avis Preferred members to rather awkwardly jump the queue - but aside from that, service is friendly and efficient. Complimentary upgrade on a weekend rental!
