Avon Owls Description
Avon Owls is a grassroots, 100% volunteer-run charity cares and looks after wild and captive breed owls and other birds of prey through education and public engagement. Avon Owls relies solely on donations. With the help of our supporters, weβve grown to house over 40 birds of prey, since Darren Jenkins got the first owls in 2008. .
Ex-pets, injured wild birds or abandoned chicks. No matter where an animal has come from they receive dedicated time and attention. Domestic birds receive training or are re-homed whilst wild birds are giving a safe space to recover before release.
This all started in the founders back garden, but has quickly outgrew the garden. now squeezed into 0. 4 acres site on the edge of Banwell, The charity is raising funds, so it can buy it own piece of land and relocate the centre,
once this has been completed, Avon Owls will be able to open its doors more often for educational visits, talks and events, for schools, groups and the general public.
Avon Owls is looking for 2 acre piece of land in the Cheddar, or Weston super mare area.

Avon owls are at the RSPCA open day at Brent knowle. Gates open 12. So why not pop along and see all the animals.

Stuck for something to do with your little ones tomorrow? Why not come down and see our beautiful birds and maybe even hold one! We have a gift shop on site too π we would all love to meet you. Doors open at 10am

It is the day of our open day tomorrow, doors open at 10am last entry at 4.30pm and we close the doors at 5pm. Rolo is sat waiting to say hello so why not come and meet her? We look forward to seeing you there.

We came to the open day yesterday it was a lovely morning seeing all the beautiful owls plus other birds , thank you to all the volunteers they were all lovely and very helpful οΏ½
This was our first visit and was mainly aimed at meeting my wife's adopted owl, Whizz. It was a beautiful day weather-wise and a very enjoyable day owl-wise. One cannot speak too highly of the staff, of the work that they do, of the knowledge they possess and the politeness which they show to their visitors. If you get the opportunity to visit on one of their open days you will be well rewarded.
The Avon Owl volunteers we just talked to at Cheddar Garden centre were exceptionally knowledgeable. It was lovely to see that care of the animals is paramount to what they do, plus my Mum really enjoyed holding Squiggle. Weβll definitely be coming to one of the open days.
