We went on Church Youth Group weekend away with St Peters Discovery 2nd - 4th Feb 2018. The scenery is beautiful, with beautiful grounds set in the New Forest and early morning all you can hear is the wind in the trees. We stayed in the main house, a wonderful stately place with loads of room to spread out in. The rooms are comfortable and homely and facilities are good. The Staff are wonderful and could not be more helpful, from helping with dietary requirements to providing more wood for the fires, nothing was a problem. The building is old and once you accept that, you'll be fine :). We loved the Canteen/dining area and it was warm and spacious and the food was excellent and hearty. I needed lots of veg as I am on a diet and there was salad with lunch and dinner.

The outward bound instruction staff were funny and professional and we all had a great time with the low ropes and climbing wall. They were very sensitive to people being nervous climbing and although we had some nervous climbers, everyone got a go.

All in all and excellent weekend and I can see why the Youth Group keep coming back every year.

Thank you very much - I will happily recommended you to anyone looking for a activity centre and residential venue. :)

We just came back from 2 days camping with 2 kids and a dog . Brilliant place with wonderful helpful staff . Great activities for everyone . Very clean . When we arrived it was quite busy but the staff said we could choose anywhere to pitch our tent . We had a great spot which back straight on to the new forest . We will be going back for sure !

User

We had a night camping under the stars next to kids play area. It was perfect weather and was safe for kids to roam (within vision youngest is two). Showers were small but clean. Water a bit tepid but workable. Thoroughly recommend and will be back. Thank you.

User

We came yesterday for the MotherŌĆÖs Day ŌĆśHave a Go DayŌĆÖ We had a brilliant day doing Kayaking and pedaloes, Bushcraft (making Mums hot drinks and toasting marshmallows on a campfire) Archery and Building a shelter. We loved it - both myself and my Mum enjoyed the activities as well as the children. The staff were very attentive and helpful, lots of memories made, will definitely return x

User

This is an amazing place please support it as much as you can. We volunteered for the day and built a bridge

User

Had a joint 10th birthday with 12 of them.

The staff on the raft making, zip wire and rock climbing /abseiling cannot get any more professional, they done everything by the book on health & safety and they're very friendly and funny with the kids too!

Perfect day for it all!!

Only downside being that there was a lot of rubbish and a half a 4 pint milk carton lumpy and smelly just dumped in the sheltered picnic bench section, I know people like ourselves took all our rubbish home, but there was bins there and visitors ruin such a good place by laziness !!

User

Had a fabulous day with the kids staff friendly and helpful would have been nice to have the cafe open but apart from that we all loved it

User

Fabulous place and top staff - my daughter loved her raft building birthday party - thanks to Patrick for his patience with them all :-)

User

Awesome experience! I went on the high rope activity with my 10 year old son. Makes Go Ape look tame! Was excellent and the staff were fab. I canŌĆÖt wait to go back and do all the activities. Also great value for money!

User

Amazing place to camp with my boys. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.

User

We were there on a residential trip with work. We took five disabled students, they had a great time. The activities staff were amazing especially Lee on the mountain biking and Ross on the twilight walk.

User

We have camped here the last three years. We all love it, itŌĆÖs a beautiful site and surroundings with good facilities. Until this year our children have been too small to really enjoy the extra activities but we spent a lot of time in the woods and on the bike trials. Look forward to next year when the kids can do the activities.

IŌĆÖd like to see the pool open to campers for longer periods of the day but thatŌĆÖs my only criticism.

User

We had a nice weekend, the bike trails and walking routes are great and the kids enjoyed a morning of bushcraft! The place is a little tired and run by teenagers but they don't do a bad job! We camped in a motor home and would have preferred not to get stuck in the mud but don't think they cater for hard standing pitches so we made do! We had fun and will probably return in the summer.

User

Overall this was a great set up .. staff friendly .. girls loved rock climbing and swimming but didn't get to do other activities as busy ... not so sure on the mixed shower blocks and toilets ..

and only down side was signs for cafe on Monday showed 12 till 19.00 open but when went to get something to eat at 5 pm ish was told that was only for weekend and normally hours would be till 4 pm but no notification to advertise this .. local fish and chip shop was also closed.. so kind of ruined the finally of weekend ..

User

Lovley place, friendly staff - great with kids. We had a nice time on the pedalos, shower block was modern by the lakeside. End of summer pool party was well organised and the pool like a hot tub once in. My only moan would be the huge log Fire from early morning burning from the lake side making our clothes and stuff stink, not great for asthmatics like me. This went on all day and the cafe was not open in the morn so we had to head to Burley, but I appreciate its end of season. Very picturesque and peaceful apart from the odd plane flying over. All in all we enjoyed and will return.

User

Lovely site for camping. Hired the ready erected tent and had a lovely time climbing and nature trail. Set in beautiful landscape nice lakes and lots of activities for kids.

User

Just come back from a 3 night stay with our friends and 3 young children.

We had a brilliant stay. We were so pleased to see unisex shower and toilet blocks, it's makes it so much easier for young families to shower and get ready!

The site itself was really lovely, lots of beautiful walking / biking trails, lovely cafe on site which was incredibly reasonable, along with a well stocked shop.

The only grumbles I have were that it's not overly clear (apart from a small sign on the boathouse) that you can do half hour trips on the lake, the activities themselves were slightly too expensive and unfortunately Y nothing really suitable for under 8s (apart from Kayaking with adults).

The pool heater was broken so only managed to stay in it for about 15 minutes out of our hr slot as the children were going blue.

We would definitely return though, with the hopes of heated pool!

Thank you very much

User

Camped here for 2 days with my husband and 2 young sons. We stayed in a tent which was already erected in the woodland area. The woodland area was lovely with places for you to make fires. The only downside was that it was pouring down with rain when we got there so the area we were in got very muddy. Perhaps if there were more wood chippings laid on the ground in the area it wouldn't have been so bad. Whilst there we took 2 kayaks out on the lake which was lovely. We also used the swimming pool which was only ┬Ż1 per hour and lovely and warm. The shop sold everything you need and was very good value. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely like to come back and would recommend friends.

User

Just returned home. Huge potential, but lacks motivation and enthusiasm from its staff right through to its facilities. Ross, on the other hand was excellent, with the children and the adults. A little bit of a spruce to remove the urine smell in the toilets/showers, and customer services skills shared with the staff would greatly improve the stay. The children loved the fire pits, and canoeing was good value for money with Ross. There was not enough bins and no clear signs for drinking water. We were unaware that we would be sleeping under a flight path ’┐Į’┐Į

The shelters and picnic benches added convenience.

The system to record lost property was a folded piece of scrap paper. Maybe a book would be more professional and beneficial, after all there must be lost property reported every week in an establishment such as this.

We had a good time, but found ourselves chatting about "what could be done differently to really do the site justice" We appreciate its the end of the summer, but it still cost us ┬Ż80 for 2 nights ’┐Į
