Awwg - African Women'S Welfare Group

African Women's Welfare Group is a Pan – African Women grass root organisation founded in 1989 to advocate the rights and the dignity of newly arrived African women, refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. It provides outreach services, general advice and information, health promotion, support in accessing health and social care services, immigration advice and campaigns against female genital mutilation. \AWWG aims at empowering African refugees, migrants women and children in order to fulfill their potentials. \Moreover, since December 2001, AWWG has a branch located in Oloirien, in the Arusha region, Tanzania. \AWWG Arusha opened a Primary and Secondary school in Oloirien and provides training courses on microfinance and gender empowerment.
