4 QUICK TIPS FOR NEW WAXERS
Professional Beauty recently asked me to share some advice for the most common problems faced by newbie waxers, for their online blog.

... 1пёҸвғЈ WAX WHERE YOU DONвҖҷT WANT IT
Accidental drips and dribbles on the body can be banished easily with a splash of oil. Apply generously, then either wipe with a clean paper strip or twist the hair between your fingers to loosen the wax. Repeat until all stickiness has disappeared.
Pssst... this also works for sticky spots on floors, hard surfaces and heaters! рҹҳү
2пёҸвғЈ WAX LEFT ON THE SKIN WHEN THE PAPER STRIP IS REMOVED
Most often in this situation the wax has gone cold, usually because the clientвҖҷs skin is chilly or your wax is applied too thickly. рҹҘ¶ Apply strip wax in thin, single layers to avoid build-up and work in smaller sections if this keeps happening.
Dry skin can also cause problems, in which case massage a drop of oil into the area before applying your wax, to act as a barrier.
Keep the skin taut, both when applying and removing wax, especially on areas with looser skin and folds (such as the upper thighs, bikini line, crook of the arm, etc.). DonвҖҷt be afraid to ask your client to help with stretching.
To deal with wax that is stuck fast: get yourself a fresh paper strip and lay it over the top of any residue at a slightly different angle, rub briskly and remove in a single swift motion. As a last resort, use oil to dissolve any sticky bits, re-cleanse and start again.
3пёҸвғЈ PEELABLE WAX WONвҖҷT SET
Hot wax taking too long to set on warmer parts of the body or in humid weather? рҹҘө Simply dampen a cotton pad with cold water and wipe over any gummy patches to cool and harden it instantly. рҹ‘Ң
4пёҸвғЈ SHORT, STUBBORN HAIRS ARENвҖҷT COMING OUT
Clients should wait a minimum of 3 weeks after shaving or using hair removal creams, and 4 weeks after their last wax to get best results. Make sure customers are aware of this or you will drive yourself crazy with tweezing.
To remove multiple stubborn hairs, try the following вҖҳsteppingвҖҷ technique:
вңіпёҸ Using firm pressure, apply a layer of peelable wax AGAINST the direction of hair growth and allow to dry. вңіпёҸ Stretching the skin taut, lift and remove wax WITH the direction of growth. вңіпёҸ Instead of pulling the strip off in one quick motion, remove in several tiny wiggles, re-bracing the skin at every step of the way to avoid shorter hairs popping out of the wax. рҹҸҶ
