AY Group Community Services CIC (AYG) is a small ethnic minority organisation, providing support to young people and adults of all backgrounds, we exist to prepare them for employment using accredited training, volunteering and work experience. Using one-to-one diagnostic interview, we help clients to identify individual barriers to work they may face and offer signposting to relevant agencies which they may need. During this session, areas of work, of particular interest to the client will be discussed and further training opportunities will be explored. Also, the opportunity for creating self-employment through own business ideas will be explored. Literacy and numeracy assessments will also be conducted to identify potential weaknesses which may present further barriers to employment. The culmination of this element of the provision is a realistic tailored action plan with the goal of moving the client towards full time work. We highlight our additional support for removing barriers i. e. ongoing support in job-search including CV and cover letter checks. So far, we have supported over 4000 young people and adults. We were able to provide computer & IT classes, English & maths functional skills level 1& 2, job search club, job applications, CV's and cover letter writing skills. Offering a tailored one-2-one approach, enabling the individual to work through their motivations and barriers, identifying what they need to move forward in their search for work or further training. The Community Hub will be a safe place where people of all ages, cultures and abilities are encouraged to use the community facilities offered. The aim is to provide community cohesion and wellbeing. We believe passionately, that London is in desperate need of such community facilities to provide a safe, secure and pro-active set of services. The aim is to provide services that will promote social enterprise, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities within the local a area.
