Join us to have an amazing experience, a wonderful massage in the process, and to take away an essential life skill! We can promise you that being able to give an amazing Ayurvedic Yoga Massage for the neck, shoulders, head and face will mean that your friends and family will love you just a little bit more (or your clients, if you are already a therapist)! Or, even better, bring a friend or family member along, and we'll teach them to massage you too! And we'll give you both... a little discount, because we think that friends and family massaging each other is awesome.
I often offer a neck, shoulders, head and face massage at the beginning and the end of a full body massage as it’s so relaxing, and most people tend to hold a lot of tension in their neck and head. Offering a head and shoulders massage to your friends will help them feel light, wonderful and able to relax and rest. It can also really help with tension-related headaches and insomnia. The head and neck massage is extremely effective, and at the same time one of the most enjoyable parts of the body to massage.
Requirements: An open mind and willingness to learn! If you have difficulty sitting on the floor please contact Despina in advance to discuss how appropriate this workshop might be for you.
If you are already a therapist or yoga teacher, you'd be very welcome to join us too, and add to your skillset! We can give you a certificate of participation for your CPD.

☆ Ayurvedic Yoga Massage by donation, Sunday 23rd February at @wearewellness, Leeds ☆
Every few months Ayurvedic Yoga Massage therapists offer an affordable way to have an amazing treatment. We offer a clinic where you can have an Ayurvedic Yoga Massage for a fraction of the usual cost (about 50-70%, depending on which therapist you end up working with). This is a wonderful way to get introduced to AYM!
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a powerful method of bodywork, where we work w...ith oil massage (from medium to remedial pressure, as appropriate for the client), tractions, mobilisations and stretches. We focus on getting the whole body supple and mobile, getting the energy flowing through the body, and facilitating free breathing. Sessions are nurturing and enjoyable, although also intense where necessary. We always stay within the client's limits on the day, to create a safe healing space. We can work with physical pains and ailments, and also with stress and emotional challenges.
This Sunday, 23 February you can choose from two 90-minute slots for appointments (first come first served basis):
- 11 am to 12.30 pm, or
- 3-4.30 pm
Grab yours space via the event link ASAP, they're filling up quickly!

☆ Level 4 Therapist Training, 22nd February, Leeds ☆
Open to students who have completed L1-3. In AYM level 4 we focus more on client experience and perfecting your technique than adding more massage strokes/stretches to your repertoire. You give full body sessions, take notes, get feedback from clients for whole sessions and discuss everything with me.
You practice the introduction to the session and closing as well, in a supported environment. It's the part of the course where everything comes together!

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Workshop – Legs & Feet - June 13th, 9.30am - 1.30pm at @theyogabarnsouthcave In this workshop we’ll cover massaging the legs and feet with our hands and feet and some leg, knee and/or ankle stretches. Massaging the legs and feet with the hands is wonderful and the stretches feel like heaven afterwards. People are often surprised how much better they feel after massage plus stretches, compared to just massage. This workshop also includes one of Despin...a’s personal favourites, walking on the legs. Don't be daunted, it's not difficult, in fact it's much easier than massaging the legs with your hands! And it's one of the parts of an AYM session where people are most surprised by how amazing it feels. – The workshops are fun and within the 4 hours you receive at 45-60 mins of massage – By giving the massage you can feel the benefits of a loving kindness meditation combined with a gentle yoga practice – Both giving and receiving AYM help to understand the body better, as we experience the quality of muscles at the same time as observing how the body moves This workshop appropriate for – – Beginners to massage/non professionals. Your friends and family will love you just a little bit more! – Experienced therapists – use it as CPD to get inspired by a new method, and add some AYM strokes and stretches to your existing practice. – Yoga teachers who either want to improve their hands-on adjustments (you will understand how the body moves from a different perspective), or offer short massage sessions as part of their yoga privates. – partners who get bored of massaging you after 5 minutes – this workshop is the antidote, they will see how interesting it is to massage people, and will not get bored again afterwards – money back guarantee!

In the Level 4 course we think about how to optimise sessions for different clients. Which techniques to choose and how to sequence them, how to prioritise how long we spend on each part of the body/pressure/stretches, the pace and the energy of the session.
And of course, you’ll be observed practising, receive feedback on your technique, and you can ask any questions. Basically, it's how to take what we've learned and get more confident in putting it together to offer amazing treatments!
