Hair must contain some level of brown pigment (melanin) to respond to laser. Blonde, grey or red hair will not respond therefore cannot be treated. It is important to allow some hair to be present in the treatment area on the day of your consultation to ensure your hair is suitable for treatment.

The 10 Steps of IPL Hair Removal -
Step 1: ideally avoid tanning and fake tans for at least a month to prepare for IPL hair removal. The skin should be as light as possible at the time of treatment. Apply sunscreen with at least an SPF 30 if you do need to spend time outdoors, and the area you wish to have hair removed by laser will be exposed to UVA/UVB rays.
Step 2: Refrain from plucking or waxing for at least 2-4 weeks prior to undergoing IPL hair removal. Shaving is fine,... but these other hair removal techniques can reduce and stop the effectiveness of IPL treatment. Also, the hair should not be bleached.
Step 3: Shave the area that will be treated, as instructed during the pre-treatment consultation. This is usually two days before the appointment. The hair follicles should be visible approx 2mm.
Step 4: Clean the skin at the treatment area and leave it free of cosmetics, lotions and creams. If you apply deodorant, it will be removed prior to treatment.
Step 5: Wear clothing that will leave the treated area exposed or is loose fitting. The treated area may have a soothing topical cream applied that you don't want to get on clothing.
Step 6: The technician will put protective eye wear on you and may shave the area if the hair is too long.
Step 7: Use 30+sunscreen to cover that sensitive skin. The skin is vulnerable to direct sunlight and may be prone to darkening. This is especially important in those with dark skin.
Step 8: Avoid heat treatment like hot showers, steam rooms and sauna for at least 24-48 hours.
Step 9: Stay away from laser hair removal if you are on any anti-biotic medication. This should be up-held for another 2 weeks after finishing the medication.
Step 10: Except for mineral make up which can be used post treatment, avoid any make up for at least a day. Avoid waxing, tweezing or electrolysis as for the laser hair removal needs intact hair follicles to be effective.

Ok ladies, let's talk about CLEANING your lashes! ŌśØ­¤Å╝’ĖÅ
If you're going to invest the time and money on lash extensions, please be sure you are cleaning them and keeping them clean at all times. These Lashes are waterproof so don't be afraid to get in there and take the time to gently but thoroughly clean them with cleanLASH pads by NovaLash or just water followed by applying some organic extra virgin olive oil along the lash line for conditioning­¤Æ¦
It's ok to wear makeup with ...them, but whether you are wearing it or not, you MUST be cleaning them. I cannot stress this enough! ­¤ÖÅ­¤Å╝ When you don't clean your lashes properly, it can create oil and debris build up which can irritate your eyes and allow bacteria to multiply resulting in inflammation and eye infections. (See picture for reference) It can also clog and suffocate your hair follicles preventing new lashes from growing. Eventually you will see less and less of your own lashes if this happens.
Not cleaning can also loosen the bond of the glue making your lashes come off prematurely. ­¤Öł If you have not yet picked up a NovaLash after kit I highly recommend you do for ┬Ż35 which lasts up to 6 months! Here are some tips to ensure your taking the correct aftercare .. ­¤æŹ please avoid all glycol and glycerin based products. This includes most face wipes, make up removers and setting sprays. You can use these products but just keep them away from your lash extensions ­¤æŹ do not rub, pull or pick at lashes any time... ­¤æŹ please keep your lashes clean - use water or the novalash cleanlash wipes only. Remember these lashes are waterproof so theres no excuse ­¤Æ¦­¤Æ¦ you wouldn't go for a month without washing your hair and the same goes for your lashes ­¤śś ­¤æŹ do not use novalash cleanlash pads 3 days before your infill appointment ­¤æŹgive your lashes a good thorough clean the day before your infill appointment ­¤æŹ brush your lashes daily ­¤æŹ Please tell me if your on any new medication before each appointment or any of your medical circumstances have changed
