Ba Education At The University Of Gloucestershire Description

Changing dramatically in recent times, the nature of education and learning is likely to evolve at an ever increasing rate.

New theories and ideas about what knowledge is and how people learn, alongside exciting new technologies and increasing globalisation, mean that assumptions about the education system are continually challenged.

This course gives you a chance to think carefully about the purpose, nature and effects of education. You’ll consider how ideas, thoughts and concepts have influenced both past and current practice and might shape future policies. You’ll also analyse the relationship of education with society as a whole.

Our programme supports deep learning and develops skills for life leading to a diverse and growing range of employment options. It also provides opportunities for work based learning allowing you to explore employment possibilities available and further enhance your professional skills.

With single honours you can take modules from other programmes to develop a subject specialism, or you can combine with another subject to gain a joint honours degree.

On completion of the degree you might like to consider applying for a PGCE to achieve qualified teacher status or progress to a Masters in Education.
