About Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club
Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club is based in Torquay on one of the prettiest stretches of coastline in the UK. RYA Training Centre. New members welcome.
Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club Description
Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club’s headquarters was first established in an old fisherman’s hut on Oddicombe Beach, Torquay. Today, the original stone walls form the bottom storey of our present beach Club House.
The Club’s first race was sailed on 6th July 1935 in which six boats competed – the race being won by ‘Bumble Bee’ sailed by Mr S W Francis.
Today, we are an active club with a full sailing and social programme. We have a mix of novice and experienced sailors and provide RYA instruction for beginners and improvers. We also have junior sailing every Friday during the season.
Our door is always open to new members and one thing we can guarantee is a friendly welcome.
