Independent Publishers of the Dark Fantasy series Master Guardian which was established in 2000 by the author Barbara Boot to self-publish her series worldwide.

The Master Guardian novels are set in modern day England and Japan.
Synopses: Master Shǒuwèi (Guard) Shin also known as Master Guardian Chéng, lives in Yorkshire, he is the last surviving Soul Drinker, who is classed as god and a weapon against the Vampires as he can consume their souls and leave them as nothing but a pile of dust. But this young man does not like to kill them unless there is no alternative to stop them from killing innocent mortals, as most Vampires are merely being controlled by a tyrant known as Murakami, he alone is responsible for turning his own kind into raging, mindless monsters. Shǒuwèi hopes to discover how the tyrant is doing it and stop him before he again raises an army to go against the gods, who are known throughout the world as Dragons, Annihilation, Necrosis, Dreamers and Soul Drinkers.

The short story series are set in ancient China, Japan and Greece they are all based around members Shǒuwèi's extended family who appear or are mentioned in the novels.
