Babushka Bakes

Homemade cakes and bakes with a Russian flavor.

My Russian Grandmother (babushka) was a wonderful baker and like all busy housewives she never let me help her bake or shared her recipes with me. Just shooed me away and told me to stop pestering her.

With time and a lot of persuasion I was finally allowed to watch her make her delicious pastries (pirogi), dumplings (pilimeni & vareniki) and cakes. I even got to write some of the recipes down.

Now I am babushka to Kitty (who has Angelman Syndrome)and together we explore the wonderfully versatile world of baking.
